		<official-title>To authorize the Secretary of the Navy to repay Federal
		  educational loans of officers of the United States Marine Corps who were
		  commissioned on or after September 11, 2001.</official-title>

		<section id="H51FC4F73F3DA4B13A8FD47C4E9926E45" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Authorization of Federal
			 Educational Loan Payment</header>
			<subsection id="H6FBB115CE5AF442E9884BB99EF9B55E6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of the Navy is authorized to
			 pay the outstanding balance on any Federal educational loan of an officer of
			 the United States Marine Corps who was commissioned on or after September 11,
			 2001, and is not in default on such Federal educational loan.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HB017F2253263487CA8E4EE7CC248F0DF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Exception</header><text>This
			 section shall not apply to an officer who is a graduate of the United States
			 Naval Academy.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1740C56347D947AE989169F94D19A99D"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Rule of
			 construction</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Nothing in this
			 section shall be construed to authorize the refunding of any repayment of a
			 Federal educational loan.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HC82AFABCEB43469BB5C82306F50006CE"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
			 this section:</text>
				<paragraph id="HAB53A789294B4526856FEB4CF003CF79"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Federal
			 educational loan</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term
			 <term>Federal educational loan</term> means a loan made, insured, or guaranteed
			 under part B, D, or E of title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20
			 U.S.C. 1070 et seq.), except that such term does not include a Federal
			 consolidation loan under section 428C of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1078-3">20 U.S.C. 1078–3</external-xref>).</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H13D8AD6DCD144054A600EE0674BDD46"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Institution of
			 higher education</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term
			 <term>institution of higher education</term> has the meaning given it in
			 section 101(a) of such Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1001">20 U.S.C. 1001(a)</external-xref>).</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA8373FFF211B4AF88DEF9E09D0DF1F6"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Outstanding
			 balance</header><text>The term <term>outstanding balance</term> means the
			 principal and interest owed on a Federal educational loan, as determined by the
			 Secretary of the Navy.</text>
