<section id="H9E5E4CD3C74C4173ADAE12B5845D3829" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Modification of rate of excise tax on certain arrows designed for use by children</header> 
<subsection id="H5C20EF3838084D16851DDD292C27EE5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Paragraph (2) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/4161">section 4161(b)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to arrows) is amended by redesignating subparagraph (B) as subparagraph (C) and by inserting after subparagraph (A) the following new subparagraph:</text>

<subparagraph id="H3842D8933C684CD1AE71E69273C44836"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Exemption for certain arrow shafts</header><text>Subparagraph (A) shall not apply to any shaft measuring <fraction>5/16</fraction> of an inch or less in diameter and consisting of either—</text> 
<clause id="HF552986DF4464756A3F66935FEF28334"><enum>(i)</enum><text>all fiberglass and hollow, or</text></clause> 
<clause id="H537E968416C94A71BD65BE7648334274"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>all natural wood,</text></clause><continuation-text continuation-text-level="subparagraph">with no laminations or artificial means of enhancing the spine of such shaft (whether sold separately or incorporated as part of a finished or unfinished product) of a type used in the manufacture of any arrow which after its assembly is not suitable for use with a bow described in paragraph (1)(A).</continuation-text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H4CED94E9461742978593DE974D6F3E1"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to shafts first sold after the date of enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
