<section id="H7536F9494E564798A834BBF8CDF3EA15" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Expanding Availability of VA Health Care Act of 2008</short-title></quote>. </text></section>
<section id="H96DD86D740CA4F49B254621BA36C72D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Expansion of availability of health care provided by Secretary of Veterans Affairs by adjusting the income level for certain priority veterans</header> 
<subsection id="H264DCDB1FAA048ACBF32977D3DD1B72F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Adjustment of income level</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subsection (a)(7) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/1705">section 1705</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="HD6819F1FB1654BDDA84ED52CEA0000B4"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking <quote>who are eligible for treatment as a low-income family</quote> and inserting <quote>whose incomes do not exceed 150 percent of the maximum income of a family that is eligible for treatment as a low-income family</quote>; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H75A0E7C1BE4F4E4F903578101F6E5736"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>, regardless</quote> and all that follows through the end and inserting a period.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="HB31461830F89451593348E00DF8325A5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to patient enrollments in the system of annual patient enrollment under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/1705">section 1705</external-xref> of title 38, United States Code, for fiscal years beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text></subsection></section>
