		<official-title>To amend the Communications Act of 1934 to include within
		  the certification required for certain schools and libraries having computers
		  with Internet access that receive services at discounted rates that, as part of
		  the required Internet safety policy, the schools and libraries are educating
		  minors about safe online behavior.</official-title>

		<section id="H488EB861FC854D0CBB99556C2CAA93B6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>The Protecting Our Children Online Act
			 of 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC65C96841EC54F54ADEA4381B6D3361B" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requiring Internet
			 safety policy to include education about safe online behavior</header>
			<subsection id="H20B41E0BE9A249FBAFFBC7D4AEB501E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 254(l)(1) of
			 the Communications Act of 1934 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/47/254">47 U.S.C. 254(l)(1)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H87A81BA30FC04666BF91F686C1F8A283"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraph (A)(v), by striking
			 <quote>and</quote> after the semicolon;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HA1F6BCB5FA7642F89F9B6C964F50D253"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by redesignating subparagraph (B) as
			 subparagraph (C); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H4EB1BDD8D2DA4630B9DFAABEFD7DC0A9"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subparagraph (A) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3A597C7216DB42ECB31D4871C84D00D4" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="H74D3C33B1C1B47619C84F4DEFFB40279"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">as part of such Internet safety policy,
				educate minors about safe online behavior, which may include information
				about—</text>
							<clause id="HD0049D1784B44429A72BB0847567B24"><enum>(i)</enum><text>interacting with
				other individuals through social networking websites, chat rooms, electronic
				mail, bulletin boards, instant messaging, and other means of online
				communication; and</text>
							</clause><clause id="H46CAB4535F134299A7AD3B588E9F5703"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>cyberbullying
				awareness and response;
				and</text>
							</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H2BAF2F0426FE4AF6BF75A94000DD9236"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 Date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect 120
			 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
