		<official-title>To amend title 5, United States Code, to provide that a
		  Federal employee may use up to 2 days of sick leave a year in the performance
		  of community service.</official-title>

		<section id="HDE9BE742B5FE45CBB5A8CEC812E6555D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Availability of sick leave to
			 perform community service</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/5/6307">Section 6307</external-xref> of title 5, United States Code,
			 is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H389396E7129C4F1A8CB9AA5D8FCBFB9C" style="USC">
				<subsection id="HEC82C61DA74F470E81357176EFE1294B"><enum>(e)</enum><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H200770D241034479A33F1826B9275C6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>Subject to paragraph (2)
				and in addition to any other allowable purpose, sick leave may be used by an
				employee in order to perform qualified community service.</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="H806A87683273429087B4343DE4231968" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The total amount of sick leave used
				by an employee under this subsection may not exceed 2 days a year.</text>
					</paragraph><paragraph id="H4EB2529BF47D4A0EB75D833EAC5C49F7" indent="up1"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For purposes of this subsection, the term
				<term>qualified community service</term> means volunteer service—</text>
						<subparagraph id="H328E73BDA9894F51B5805065816FECA3"><enum>(A)</enum><text>performed for a charitable
				organization which is participating in the Combined Federal Campaign;
				and</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3FA05E1C61D04745970046A1E9E9AB5D"><enum>(B)</enum><text>which satisfies such other
				requirements as the Office of Personnel Management may by regulation prescribe.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
