		<official-title>To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to require, as
		  a condition of receipt of certain State homeland security grants, that a State
		  include a representative of the State department of education in homeland
		  security decision-making bodies of the State.</official-title>

		<section id="HD307D3B08DE541B89F0467C6047EFF3E" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Schools in Homeland Security Planning
			 Act of 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HBE8AED31156348FD946D70FAF3C5E197"><enum>2.</enum><header>Representation of
			 State departments of education in State homeland security decision
			 making</header>
			<subsection id="H6A8B5BE8D8604041A0F17CB4A8CFF821"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Condition of
			 receipt of assistance</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 2002 of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/6/603">6 U.S.C. 603</external-xref>) is amended by adding
			 at the end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HCEA705277F97499AAE6F82C418EC33C1" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H53278DA25085492298F7EEC64CA061B"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Representation of
				State departments of education in State homeland security decision
				making</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall
				require, as a condition of receipt of grants to any State under section 2003
				and 2004, that the State include a representative of the State department of
				education in each homeland security decision-making body of the State that has
				authority to determine how such grants will be used.</text>
					</subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HC926A72E6730423084A0597C6D4BB003"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Limitation on
			 application</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with
			 respect to grants made with amounts appropriated for fiscal years beginning
			 after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
