<official-title>To provide the Secretary of Education with authority to give preference, in the distribution of certain grants under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, to local educational agencies and certain public or private nonprofit organizations that provide training to regular education personnel to meet the needs of children with disabilities.</official-title>

<section id="H459BE3BE1F4B4B4CAABAB2CAFE0737E" section-type="section-one" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Teacher Training Expansion Act of 2007</short-title></quote>. </text></section> 
<section id="H96189A1D4170471ABEAB1FBE09F1E300"><enum>2.</enum><header>Preferences allowed in distribution of certain grants</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 662(f)(3) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1462">20 U.S.C. 1462(f)(3)</external-xref>) is amended to read as follows:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H3FF666E3AE9C42F78FE4A74B00A88219" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<paragraph id="H17A9F993C3374C72B97488F7087B545C"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Preferences</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In selecting eligible entities for assistance under this section, the Secretary may give preference to—</text> 
<subparagraph id="H3F9FA324C58B4F269DED9BAD4B39D342"><enum>(A)</enum><text>eligible entities that are institutions of higher education that are educating regular education personnel to meet the needs of children with disabilities in integrated settings; </text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HF5E0D63BF86D4F7293FB1E892694008C"><enum>(B)</enum><text>eligible entities that are institutions of higher education that are educating special education personnel to work in collaboration with regular educators in integrated settings;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H635A2A80E90844BBB169E0A8D6E508A1"><enum>(C)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">eligible entities that are institutions of higher education that are successfully recruiting and preparing individuals with disabilities and individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the profession for which the institution of higher education is preparing individuals;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H40228D08C1874578AC91CCA74017C278"><enum>(D)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">eligible entities that are described in subparagraphs (B), (E), and (F) of section 661(b)(1) that are providing training to regular education personnel to meet the needs of children with disabilities in integrated settings;</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="HCFE25C5D25D7454B948B15AD1C5C2C12" commented="no"><enum>(E)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">eligible entities that are described in subparagraphs (B), (E), and (F) of section 661(b)(1) that are providing training to special education personnel to work in collaboration with regular educators in integrated settings; and</text></subparagraph> 
<subparagraph id="H50EC50E894CF42559DBFC100ACAE8B80"><enum>(F)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">eligible entities that are described in subparagraphs (B), (E), and (F) of section 661(b)(1) that are successfully recruiting and preparing individuals with disabilities and individuals from groups that are underrepresented in the profession for which the eligible entity is preparing individuals.</text></subparagraph></paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
