		<official-title>To provide for the continued availability of automated
		  stamp vending machines at facilities of the United States Postal Service
		  serving underserved communities, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="H9A7DAD8F8C6B4225A913680034D0DA8D" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Postal Service Access Assurance Act of
			 2008</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HFD58446280F444D9B6B75D3504AC8845"><enum>2.</enum><header>Access to
			 automated stamp vending machines</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The United States Postal Service shall take
			 such action as may be appropriate to ensure that, to the maximum extent
			 practicable, automated stamp vending machines are provided at all facilities
			 which—</text>
			<paragraph id="HC4EA311374E048A9B97125C29E5DC610"><enum>(1)</enum><text>are owned by or
			 under the control of the United States Postal Service; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H88E6CF1DFA4C42918395B64B62738E1C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>provide retail
			 services to the public.</text>
			</paragraph></section><section id="H355742D7065445A4AA04E89B358300A5"><enum>3.</enum><header>Exclusion from
			 provisions requiring acceptance of $1 coins</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/31/5112">Section 5112(p)</external-xref> of title 31, United States
			 Code, is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>
			<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H65878C95F61249868000B6CCAB433E9D" style="USC">
				<paragraph id="HD24E9F94C7AE4EA1AE36D901FE3CE544" indent="up1"><enum>(6)</enum><header>Exclusion of automated stamp
				vending machines</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">None of the
				requirements of this subsection shall apply with respect to automated stamp
				vending machines located on any premises owned by or under the control of the
				United States Postal
				Service.</text>
