		<legis-type>A BILL</legis-type>
		<official-title>To rescind funds appropriated by the Consolidated
		  Appropriations Act, 2008, for the City of Berkeley, California, and any
		  entities located in such city, and to provide that such funds shall be
		  transferred to the Operation and Maintenance, Marine Corps account of the
		  Department of Defense for the purposes of recruiting.</official-title>

		<section id="HA017CE52BB894238B6B9C40F46D2E4F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Semper Fi Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF89B869E68EA40D59374F83DE3134075"><enum>2.</enum><header>Rescission and
			 transfer of funds</header>
			<subsection id="H4F5256C47F934769978972C1098FFA18"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Rescission of
			 certain earmarks</header><text>All of the amounts appropriated by the
			 Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2008 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/110/161">Public Law 110–161</external-xref>) and the accompanying
			 report for congressional directed spending items for the City of Berkeley,
			 California, or entities located in such city are hereby rescinded.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFE4671020E7A411EA6AFBE9D78E2003E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transfer of
			 funds to Operation and Maintenance, Marine Corps</header><text>The amounts
			 rescinded under subsection (a) shall be transferred to the
			 <quote><header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">Operation and
			 Maintenance, Marine Corps</header-in-text></quote> account of the Department of
			 Defense for fiscal year 2008 to be used for recruiting purposes.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HD26D13B571214CDB8D80DCF305E5179D"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Congressional
			 directed spending item defined</header><text>In this section, the term
			 <term>congressional directed spending item</term> has the meaning given such
			 term in paragraph 5(a) of rule XLIV of the Standing Rules of the Senate.</text>
