		<section id="H49E91D8668FC421CA398E98F91828772" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Minimum Wage for All Americans
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF2CABB3DD43B438EA28E289609B237D"><enum>2.</enum><header>Applicability of
			 the Federal minimum wage to American Samoa</header>
			<subsection id="HA00AB94256594E8488A354BE40F9F6ED"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Applicability</header>
				<paragraph id="H63320DEE8A444CE690BE8831C3F2301C"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 6 of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (29
			 U.S.C. 206) shall apply to American Samoa.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H4D73018E813641FFBFC3425433AD5CEC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Conforming
			 amendment</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 6(a) of the
			 Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/206">29 U.S.C. 206(a)</external-xref>) is amended by striking
			 paragraph (3) and redesignating paragraphs (4) and (5) as paragraphs (3) and
			 (4), respectively.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H0B40A1D2C3764805BD0004EDA7C2D8B5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Transition</header>
				<paragraph id="HC7E5C04EC87748B7AD5046F332367946"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Notwithstanding subsection (a), the minimum wage
			 applicable to American Samoa under section 6(a)(1) of the Fair Labor Standards
			 Act of 1938 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/206">29 U.S.C. 206(a)(1)</external-xref>) shall be—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H3224FE824F9A43BF8BB60683A9916363"><enum>(A)</enum><text>$3.55 an hour,
			 beginning on the 60th day after the date of enactment of this Act; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H90F707FAD79A4A6C93CD1296241565EA"><enum>(B)</enum><text>increased by $0.50
			 an hour (or such lesser amount as may be necessary to equal the minimum wage
			 under section 6(a)(1) of such Act), beginning 6 months after the date of
			 enactment of this Act and every 6 months thereafter until the minimum wage
			 applicable to American Samoa under this paragraph is equal to the minimum wage
			 set forth in such section.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HB6929E2AC6094AB196F3F45D7CEB8424"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Special
			 rule</header><text>Notwithstanding paragraph (1), if an employee is employed in
			 an industry in American Samoa that, on the date of enactment of this Act, is
			 required to pay a minimum wage rate under <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/697">section 697</external-xref> of title 29, Code of
			 Federal Regulations, that is higher than the minimum wage rate required under
			 paragraph (1)(A), the minimum wage applicable to such employee shall be—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HDADF531261DD4AD0BC4322B158743FAC"><enum>(A)</enum><text>the minimum wage
			 rate required for such an industry under such section on the date of enactment
			 of this Act; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD928A0C182C14817B43145EFDBCC629E"><enum>(B)</enum><text>increased by $0.50
			 an hour (or such lesser amount as may be necessary to equal the minimum wage
			 under section 6(a)(1) of such Act), beginning 6 months after the date of
			 enactment of this Act and every 6 months thereafter until the minimum wage
			 applicable to American Samoa under this subsection is equal to the minimum wage
			 set forth in such section.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
