		<section id="H38FCAEB24FF84011A970FF6300C584C0" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Increase in limitation on
			 capital losses applicable to individuals</header>
			<subsection id="HBD69919000954B3DAA5979B177FEC616"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Paragraph (1) of
			 <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/1211">section 1211(b)</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to limitation on
			 capital losses) is amended by striking <quote>$3,000 ($1,500</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>$10,000 (50 percent of such amount, as increased under
			 subsection (c),</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="H8712B18F897B4F818559D73563426538"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Adjustment for
			 inflation</header><text>Section 1211 of such Code is amended by adding at the
			 end the following new subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD606DCE7485B47B58E7CCE41804039AC" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="HFE4032CEA5B64061B99C11767F35E8D0"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Adjustment for
				inflation</header>
						<paragraph id="HF47DCBA549D94125AE7F102795D37B09"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In the case of any
				taxable year beginning in a calendar year after 2008, the $10,000 amount
				contained in subsection (b)(1) shall be increased by an amount equal to—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H0A305A1F9264435D81FD6BD33F34CCCD"><enum>(A)</enum><text>such amount,
				multiplied by</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H58CB2B44FC8249A5ADF7720101006CD9"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the cost-of-living adjustment determined
				under section 1(f)(3) for the calendar year in which the taxable year begins by
				substituting <quote>calendar year 2007</quote> for <quote>calendar year
				1992</quote> in subparagraph (B) thereof.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HD5F17C46E51B4463B08DC6E16532E101"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Rounding</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If any increase determined under
				subparagraph (A) is not a multiple of $50, such increase shall be rounded to
				the next highest multiple of
				$50.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HCD1F2567F45E48D98B19F19BC0BCC70"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to taxable
			 years beginning after December 31, 2007.</text>
