		  1965 regarding the definition of economic hardship.</official-title>

		<section id="H44E0B5A2F156476497CF3372D41C0A8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Definition of economic
			 hardship</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 435(o) of the
			 Higher Education Act of 1965 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1085">20 U.S.C. 1085(o)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H340133A349774C6795948BF7AE617D94"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph
			 (1)—</text>
				<subparagraph id="HD7247764E9414F5AAF2EA97834B206F6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (A)(ii), by striking <quote>or</quote> after the semicolon;</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HDD82CA31891749F293C095F48EB7FFE1"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subparagraph (B) as subparagraph (C); and</text>
				</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H8AD490FCD5F44910B9E099619866DFFD"><enum>(C)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 subparagraph (A) the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HE3C24E2ED5564BDA8644161489F1386C" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="H7FE21E0A265946A8BBEFA4793C60DF50"><enum>(B)</enum><text>such borrower is
				working full-time and has a Federal educational debt burden that equals or
				exceeds 20 percent of such borrower’s adjusted gross income, and the difference
				between such borrower’s adjusted gross income minus such burden is less than
				220 percent of the greater of—</text>
							<clause id="H930791FF8ED44AE0A8E4BC4B80200036"><enum>(i)</enum><text>the annual
				earnings of an individual earning the minimum wage under section 6 of the Fair
				Labor Standards Act of 1938; or</text>
							</clause><clause id="HD3BF24732985400EA19250B67FDB2BC2"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>150 percent of
				the poverty line, as defined under section 673(2) of the Community Services
				Block Grant Act, applicable to such borrower's family size;
				or</text>
							</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>; and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H3644A34CF22A483082FDE5A83FB0E5C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 paragraph (2), by striking <quote>(1)(B)</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>(1)(C)</quote>.</text>
