		  eligibility of reserve component members supporting contingency operations for
		  educational assistance based on cumulative days of active duty

		<section id="HB59E70393C6F419CAF035FF8B9005844" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>National Guard and Reserve Active Duty
			 Higher Education Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HAF27D81DCEEE45AAAF6ECA221F1C8EBB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Eligibility of
			 reserve component members supporting contingency operations for educational
			 assistance based on cumulative days of active duty service</header>
			<subsection id="H04D22AB4C8434A2A87AB6F75E75F57A9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 16162(c)(4)
			 of title 10, United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HAC001A9907A946E7B34E397ED0780860"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (A)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H093AC14AF2604532B6634959AE62534B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>90 consecutive days</quote> and inserting <quote>90 cumulative
			 days</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HA34478F9B03447849CFE82F7CC0082D2"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>one continuous year</quote> and inserting <quote>365 cumulative
			 days</quote>;</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="HF2C2060B020846DFB200F66580D48C74"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (B)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H3005C78C9CCC425E8D24FEA20055FFE5"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>one continuous
			 year</quote> and inserting <quote>365 cumulative days</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1E106A0CA7C0431398C99C84086314BE"><enum>(B)</enum><text>striking
			 <quote>two continuous years</quote> and inserting <quote>730 cumulative
			 days</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H3112F53A21614189818259EE52B45D9D"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in subparagraph
			 (C) by striking <quote>two continuous years</quote> and inserting <quote>730
			 cumulative days</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection commented="no" id="H8CAA0E78CBFF4E149DE4A0C52334041E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by
			 this section shall apply with respect to educational assistance paid for months
			 beginning on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
