		<official-title>To amend the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act
		  of 2006 to modify the minimum standards required for the electronic monitoring
		  units used in the pilot program for monitoring sexual
		  offenders.</official-title>

		<section id="H207DC0E4FBCC463B91C42B7EB2469484" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Modification of minimum
			 standards required for electronic monitoring units used in sexual offender
			 monitoring pilot program</header>
			<subsection id="H84AFB26196C146028FF1073DD3D3B14C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Subparagraph (C) of
			 section 621(a)(1) of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 (42
			 U.S.C. 16981(a)(1)) is amended to read as follows:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HF80914407D3B4D5A00C9761F7DF3C446" style="OLC">
					<subparagraph id="H20ACC859CFC3472EA91029A65F32C0DB"><enum>(C)</enum><header>Minimum
				standards</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The electronic
				monitoring units used in the pilot program shall at a minimum—</text>
						<clause id="H0A70A89DB9DD467DA295B5B756FEFA22"><enum>(i)</enum><text>provide a tracking
				device for each offender that contains a central processing unit with global
				positioning system; and</text>
						</clause><clause id="H7ED229DA13A54CF0AD009C1922952631"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>permit continuous
				monitoring of offenders 24 hours a
				day.</text>
						</clause></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="HDB2993EDCA2E41B1853CDCDF0074AFD2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to grants
			 provided on or after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
