<official-title display="yes">To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to conduct special resources studies of certain lands and structures to determine the appropriate means for preservation, use, and management of the resources associated with such lands and structures.</official-title>

<section id="HDBDF5B5AEA6B4B44B82846DD9DD200"><enum>101.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Harry S Truman Birthplace Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="H8C7D793787FB4ECF8355FE54FDC866AA"><enum>102.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="H5CE6F509FB9F41369378A18F01F48442"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site in Lamar, Missouri to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="H88B77E3D0DA444F5BFF913ECBB86C5DB"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the suitability and feasibility of adding the birthplace site to the Harry S Truman National Historic Site or designating the site as a separate unit of the National Park System; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HCAEDDFBA87864FF693E7F04BC6BB800"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of the Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HD8801C8AF1B74D6E93A3C562D1000EA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HBCA4ADF701C8479EBDB7377F163B757"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this Act, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>
<paragraph id="H223C0400329E4EADAE22DD53CF643377"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the results of the study; and</text></paragraph>

<section id="H2DEBD26EEB7B47BE95565B189FF12205"><enum>201.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Extension Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="H7C8C14B1D82644A6B2C16175DF708758"><enum>202.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">In this title:</text>
<paragraph id="HDE5D11F9B5934291AFC703EEEA463BF1"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Eastern legacy sites</header><text>The term <term>Eastern Legacy sites</term> means the sites associated with the preparation or return phases of the Lewis and Clark expedition, commonly known as the <quote>Eastern Legacy</quote>, including sites in Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois. This includes the routes followed by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, whether independently or together.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H95BEE88445DD483984A65894D300D68"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Trail</header><text>The term <term>Trail</term> means the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail designated by section 5(a)(6) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(a)(6)</external-xref>).</text></paragraph></section>
<section id="H20D749C954B343F299F2CBB58901274"><enum>203.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="H5C08ED9C7BAE4C6DACEC00D8B927E568"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the Eastern Legacy sites to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="H85FF87C4AE6D461CB9463DE66BEBD535"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the suitability and feasibility of adding these sites to the Trail; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H58714B24E74D4BE4BD00B683B25C07B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of these sites by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H6F4D49D38C0F4CE29C91AA1B17906897"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 5(b) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(b)</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H5631C759E3104C758E38F04B91D940A5"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>
<paragraph id="H36F8F3DF263B45C2B04DF1A487BC841"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the results of the study; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H17A5955DFD0145A9B947B72E810984D3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any recommendations of the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></title>
<title id="H6906779CBE5F45D2B87EFC678B418496"><enum>III</enum><header>Battle of Matewan Study Act</header>
<section id="H7ABEE3CB3EDB4E3295A59BC0B4F4492B"><enum>301.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Battle of Matewan Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HE8A8FF963C874125A893003F639431C6"><enum>302.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="HE10A55749040479BB22674DE31E04EDB"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the sites and resources at Matewan, West Virginia, associated with the Battle of Matewan (also known as the Matewan Massacre) of May 19, 1920 to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="H78120A7504CD407896264D98BD96EF94"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the suitability and feasibility of designating certain historic areas of Matewan, West Virginia as a unit of the National Park System; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HB112C4EEEDA84ACA855D5B4EFFD977C3"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of these sites by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H01885420B24140E4B5E9A6DF22B47BCF"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H79F53E5BB39A475A9845DBD1CD7D9B99"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>

<title id="HF3B19CC50395431D9900BED8FEB42B93"><enum>IV</enum><header>Battle of Camden Study Act</header>
<section id="H2BB2179C2EA146758F057DC2F73D8D2D"><enum>401.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Battle of Camden Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HF263F5B74C4C40D8BA4D89BD293B9FB"><enum>402.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="HD7BDFFFA4425499594A3DFDDACB6D189"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the site of the Battle of Camden fought in South Carolina on August 16, 1780, and the site of Historic Camden, which is currently a National Park System Affiliated Area, to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="H5A94608EAB0D4E09A9CE5D5BF537DA39"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the suitability and feasibility of designating these sites as a unit or units of the National Park System; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H998F78A399854A41A1D09E5E802E5C80"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of these sites by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HF6389C8F1568405397EB35063E9D1CBC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H20B7DCFDA6584C149F5CCEA25360CC69"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>
<paragraph id="HE4FC1A9210A047E1B880C251FD681CB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the results of the study; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HBB34866F29014E42B3F87102AF0009C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>any recommendations of the Secretary.</text></paragraph></subsection></section></title>
<title id="H5EC9A5C6D3854D1FAD96B0C146BA6001"><enum>V</enum><header>Mississippi River Study Act</header>
<section id="HDA32A2E049ED4AEDBB135F275C39EEE4"><enum>501.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Mississippi River Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HEB04C67113A44454B5300336AEEAFBE"><enum>502.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="H5E4CA7305AF44243979722F896AAC9F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study along the route of the Mississippi River in the counties contiguous to the river from its headwaters in the State of Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico to evaluate—</text>
<paragraph id="H2F26F9E489594B478FA1586400A41639"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a range of alternatives for protecting and interpreting the resources along the route of the Mississippi River, including alternatives for potential addition of all or portions of the route to the National Trails System; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H00EF1CBB294D4BBF9EE2588DCD26C318"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of the route by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HEFEBCBC667E84F078361DA8D5728D844"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8 (c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>) or section 5(b) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(b)</external-xref>) as appropriate.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HBB8134CF03964A9A9D7C4178FB9776DF"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>

<title id="H95E26A870FE94AD9AFFFA3329B140517"><enum>VI</enum><header>Fort San Geronimo Study Act</header>
<section id="H232119034DFA4545B9295B239EDA13BB"><enum>601.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Fort San Gerónimo Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="H667016CD19AD457AB239B6845700D800"><enum>602.</enum><header>Definitions</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">For the purposes of this title:</text>
<paragraph id="HD45CEBF963B24B658EA60436C27C26FA"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Fort san gerónimo</header><text>The term <term>Fort San Gerónimo</term> (also known as <quote>Fortín de San Gerónimo del Boquerón</quote>) means the fort and grounds listed on the National Register of Historic Places and located near Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HFEB30A61CFCB4F60A4F4F07FDCD46435"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Related resources</header><text>The term <term>related resources</term> means other parts of the fortification system of old San Juan that are not currently included within the boundary of San Juan National Historic Site, such as sections of the City Wall or other fortifications.</text></paragraph></section>
<section id="HF22710B54B824E13AB15CE0033F16B23"><enum>603.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="H8D8F35B8CE9B4E458EFD40D6376E01B9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of Fort San Gerónimo and other related resources, to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="HF1A73E149A854C158C34A22B056372C"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the suitability and feasibility of including Fort San Gerónimo and other related resources in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico as part of San Juan National Historic Site; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H721FD76AF27643FE861CD4FA60DBCF75"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of Fort San Gerónimo and other related resources by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HA2D5BB72C904474492ECA5FF38E66973"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H8B4270CF89094C08BA4525F400C3A6A0"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>

<section id="H4A511847FB0E4930B7E4F6E2FD79F6E9"><enum>701.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Wolf House Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HAB11BA8DFD3045A0ACE0C7CEC031EDF6"><enum>702.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="H858B5F00B9B64335A019FAD4EC516BB4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the Wolf House located on Highway 5 in Norfork, Arkansas, to determine—</text>

<subsection id="HBD4808A9CC8C4EB7B14B98D9ED8C45A4"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>

<title id="H53800BCB8F3343678F29E3A59F3C00A2"><enum>VIII</enum><header>Rim of the Valley Corridor Study Act</header>
<section id="H4D18C11E230A4E08AB4BA6885637E010"><enum>801.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Rim of the Valley Corridor Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="H73AEB6E8EAD04ED0A7EE7B6F74514958"><enum>802.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="HA060BCA8541949B3B436E6A2203DA37D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study of the area known as the Rim of the Valley Corridor, generally including the mountains encircling the San Fernando, La Crescenta, Santa Clarita, Simi, and Conejo Valleys in California, to determine—</text>
<paragraph id="H88841CFC384D46108235D32DF646F39"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the suitability and feasibility of designating all or a portion of the corridor as a unit of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HFB25215B9695448DA4DF58EFB296C84"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of this corridor by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H5AD0DFDA619F407AAF9543000057AA"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Documentation</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">In conducting the study authorized under subsection (a), the Secretary shall document—</text>
<paragraph id="HC2D656B476934786933D9D6C5E2481CF"><enum>(1)</enum><text>the process used to develop the existing Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area Fire Management Plan and Environmental Impact Statement (September 2005); and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="H5F3FE4ABC6A347EA81464CDDC5762954"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">all activity conducted pursuant to the plan referred to in paragraph (1) designed to protect lives and property from wildfire.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="HA04736AE70704074B191E1D349EE8463"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text>The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>).</text></subsection>

<section id="H09D28D7E27B741F19560A88DB5F3093"><enum>901.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This title may be cited as the <quote><act-name>Butterfield Overland Trail Study Act</act-name></quote>.</text></section>
<section id="HE9C4E10820AE461581E5C5CEF4A6A86D"><enum>902.</enum><header>Special resource study</header>
<subsection id="HC875AD3654174DD4802EB125F23DF52"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Secretary shall complete a special resource study along the <quote>Ox-Bow Route</quote> of the Butterfield Overland Trail in the States of Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California to evaluate—</text>
<paragraph id="H2CABCC0F0A2C4774A20600EF3C71CEDF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">a range of alternatives for protecting and interpreting the resources of the trail area, including alternatives for potential addition of the trail area to the National Trails System; and</text></paragraph>
<paragraph id="HBAEB0362E0B04A36BCEBA965F83EE609"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the methods and means for the protection and interpretation of this trail by the National Park Service, other Federal, State, or local government entities or private or non-profit organizations.</text></paragraph></subsection>
<subsection id="H12532584383C4BF9B1D29920DD5BA62B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Study requirements</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall conduct the study in accordance with section 8(c) of <external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/91/383">Public Law 91–383</external-xref> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1a">16 U.S.C. 1a–5</external-xref>) or section 5(b) of the National Trails System Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/1244">16 U.S.C. 1244(b)</external-xref>) as appropriate.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="HC28646BFC8904ACFA5C6C81FC2AFF38E"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Report</header><text>Not later than 3 years after the date on which funds are made available to carry out this title, the Secretary shall submit to the Committee on Natural Resources of the House of Representatives and the Committee on Energy and Natural Resources of the Senate a report containing—</text>

<section id="HD66B56F6A5534A78A64D17741448C9D6"><enum>1001.</enum><header>Hunting and fishing</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Each study authorized by this Act shall document the State and local laws governing hunting and fishing within the study area.</text></section></title>

<section id="H87A997A6171C4002BE7F8D164282EAB7"><enum>1101.</enum><header>Sense of congress</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">It is the sense of Congress that any subsequent legislation affecting the status of the areas subject to the special resources studies authorized under this Act shall be supported by the results of the relevant studies authorized by this Act.</text></section></title>
