			 <quote><short-title>Solid Waste Compact
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H4A22CCE8ED244C0BBA2B08BFAE28D1F7"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authority to
			 prohibit importation of solid waste</header>
			<subsection id="H27C7A31F26FD4FC600013D28A31D8CF6"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text>Subtitle
			 D of the <act-name parsable-cite="SWDA">Solid Waste Disposal Act</act-name> (42
			 U.S.C. 6941 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 section:</text>

					<section id="H7FBAD5677C874BB7AA54BEE473EAE4C7"><enum>4011.</enum><header>Authority to prohibit importation of solid
		  waste</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A State whose State plan has been approved
				under section 4007 may prohibit the importation into that State of solid waste
				from outside that
				State.</text>

			 contents</header><text>The table of contents for such subtitle D is amended by
			 adding at the end the following new item:</text>

			 waste disposal methods</header>
			<subsection id="H37272FBCD3794CC19B25A5762DA6DF0"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Amendment</header><text>Subtitle
			 A of the <act-name parsable-cite="SWDA">Solid Waste Disposal Act</act-name> (42
			 U.S.C. 6901 et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 section:</text>

					<section id="H236E69C5494F473B932CD782EAA3637"><enum>1009.</enum><header>Alternative solid waste disposal methods</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Administrator shall, in consultation
				with the States and other interested persons, identify innovative alternative
				solid waste disposal methods, and establish and publish technical guidance
				regarding the implementation of such methods. Within one year after the date of
				the enactment of this section, and from time to time subsequently as warranted
				by changing circumstances, the Administrator shall transmit to the Congress a
				report summarizing the Administrator’s activities under this
				section.</text>
