		  employment and reemployment rights for certain individuals ordered to full-time
		  National Guard duty.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H01CE0E2841F84D3DB24606F425524C89" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>National Guard Employment Protection
			 Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HF674EF1415974387A53135C5856F4F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Reemployment rights
			 following certain National Guard duty</header>
			<subsection id="HD81EE4A28EEB44DBA54C492E47843910"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Reemployment
			 rights</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 4312(c)(4) of
			 title 38, United States Code, is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HDC597E6791C242538793BE2F41AEF188"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>or</quote> at the end of subparagraph (D);</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H49888C5773CC4EE88740AE3B8524AC00"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the
			 period at the end of subparagraph (E) and inserting <quote>; or</quote>;
			 and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H2A8D800D014D4F358D7578ACEC7E7466"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new subparagraph:</text>
					<quoted-block id="H830D3AC45EEE4AE6BEA90892D9BA2547" style="OLC">
						<subparagraph id="H2698ACA7B7E04961B100695F95C65F54"><enum>(F)</enum><text>ordered to
				full-time National Guard duty under the provisions of section 502(f) of title
				32 when the period of duty is designated by the Secretary of Defense as covered
				by this
				subparagraph.</text>
						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H043CB0E6DBD24EA8A37D328D756880B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>Subparagraph (F) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/38/4312">section 4312(c)(4)</external-xref> of title 38, United
			 States Code, as added by subsection (a), shall apply with respect to an
			 individual ordered to full-time National Guard duty under section 502(f) of
			 title 32, United States Code, on or after September 11, 2001, and shall entitle
			 such individual to rights and benefits under <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/38/43">chapter 43</external-xref> of title 38 of such
			 Code on or after that date.</text>
