<official-title display="yes">To make permanent the waiver authority of the Secretary of Education with respect to student financial assistance during a war or other military operation or national emergency.</official-title>

<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H7A0D4C6467F24D95B4FA50EBC9601180" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Sense of Congress</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">It is the sense of Congress that—</text> 
<paragraph id="H379DB06F1604402BAFC6672D3C15CB5F"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act of 2003 addresses the unique situations that active duty military personnel and other affected individuals may face in connection with their enrollment in postsecondary institutions and their Federal student loans; and</text> </paragraph>
<paragraph id="H6B4A022314474E6CA5772F9C27888C50"><enum>(2)</enum><text>the provisions authorized by such Act should be made permanent, thereby allowing the Secretary of Education to continue providing assistance to active duty service members and other affected individuals and their families.</text> </paragraph></section>
<section id="HC532988C8D1E454EA8977F00222911DC"><enum>2.</enum><header>Permanent extension of waiver authority</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The Higher Education Relief Opportunities for Students Act of 2003 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/108/76">Public Law 108–76</external-xref>; <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/20/1070">20 U.S.C. 1070</external-xref>, note) is amended by striking section 6.</text> </section>
