		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H780B3883221A4CB4979CC8DD92D701B6" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on imposition and
			 collection of tolls on certain highways constructed using Federal
			 funds</header>
			<subsection id="H1320D28C80F24751B689B53F746BB185"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Definitions</header><text>In
			 this section, the following definitions apply:</text>
				<paragraph id="H85FF09B3731D47CEBFEE315650793E05"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Federal highway
			 facility</header><text>The term <term>Federal highway facility</term> means any
			 highway, bridge, or tunnel on the Interstate System that is constructed using
			 Federal funds.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H151AD423F23846EF8CCBFD861365F307"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Secretary</header><text>The
			 term <term>Secretary</term> means the Secretary of Transportation.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HD610CF8CDADC4418B9E2D2D835D2CE99"><enum>(3)</enum><header>Tolling
			 provision</header><text>The term <term>tolling provision</term> means—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H73ED99044FA5461582C7F77D30E8003B"><enum>(A)</enum><text>section 129 of
			 title 23, United States Code;</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HE0088A6A110F48348365394509EB4129"><enum>(B)</enum><text>section 1216(b) of
			 the Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/23/129">23 U.S.C. 129</external-xref> note; 112
			 Stat. 212);</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H08C4474415974FF497DD2792004D7B52"><enum>(C)</enum><text>section 1604(b) of
			 the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy
			 for Users (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/23/129">23 U.S.C. 129</external-xref> note; 119 Stat. 1250); and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB1E42FBBBB704984B8C5CA7F9E22570"><enum>(D)</enum><text>section 1012(b)(4)
			 of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 (23 U.S.C. 149
			 note; 105 Stat. 1938).</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H898C240F44274CA7A5E0594F2FBB74D9"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Prohibition</header>
				<paragraph id="H3AD5E978DEE94BAAB1A6F7F72928BB93"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Subject to paragraph (2), the Secretary shall not permit
			 the imposition or collection of any toll on any portion of a Federal highway
			 facility—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H3046D3C05E0641CA8094B999A4154D28"><enum>(A)</enum><text>that is in
			 existence on the date of enactment of this Act; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HB31F9528DF104DAA90008567772FA798"><enum>(B)</enum><text>on which no toll
			 is imposed or collected under a tolling provision on that date of
			 enactment.</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H9036AAE15A78456D9B953669B3F4006E"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Exemption</header><text>Paragraph
			 (1) shall not apply to the imposition or collection of a toll on a Federal
			 highway facility on which a toll is imposed or collected under a tolling
			 provision on the date of enactment of this Act.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HB2D4A1B564524D60AFE185A03350A9ED"><enum>(c)</enum><header>State
			 buy-back</header><text>No toll shall be imposed or collected on a Federal
			 highway facility that is purchased by a State on or after the date of enactment
			 of this Act.</text>
