		<legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type>
		<official-title display="yes">To authorize additional funds for emergency
		  repairs and reconstruction of the Interstate I–35 bridge located in
		  Minneapolis, Minnesota, that collapsed on August 1, 2007, to waive the
		  $100,000,000 limitation on emergency relief funds for those emergency repairs
		  and reconstruction, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB961D65E3D2443EB96F7A841A74BFB2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Additional emergency relief
			 funding</header>
			<subsection id="H296507C589BE4ED499C1BFAB00F699AA"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of
			 Transportation is authorized to carry out a project for the repair and
			 reconstruction of the Interstate I–35W bridge located in Minneapolis,
			 Minnesota, that collapsed on August 1, 2007.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HFE68E284EAFB4C80A2C97A4D037F83"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Federal
			 share</header><text>The Federal share of the cost of the project carried out
			 under this section shall be 100 percent.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HCCFA8BBF294048D981009C00F3C445B6"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Authorization of
			 appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated
			 $250,000,000 to carry out this section. Such sums shall remain available until
			 expended.</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H67A36F472E264B10B40061C9319EC200"><enum>2.</enum><header>Waiver of
			 emergency relief limitation</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The limitation contained in section
			 125(d)(1) of title 23, United States Code, of $100,000,000 shall not apply to
			 expenditures under section 125 of such title for the repair or reconstruction
			 of the Interstate I–35W bridge located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, that
			 collapsed on August 1, 2007.</text>
		</section><section id="H93E31DC1BC6647AE96335532ED6FCF53"><enum>3.</enum><header>Expanded
			 eligibility for transit and travel information services</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1112 of the Safe, Accountable,
			 Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (119 Stat.
			 1171) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H46D858A79044481482F1002CE161A723"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>(a) <header-in-text level="subsection" style="OLC">In
			 general</header-in-text>.—</quote> before <quote>There</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="HB6D5545572EC4E1CBDADD6C7DB0005F4"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HD07B9BAA36E24DB199E09006FEA9A94E" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="H2C0179FD117E4ED7959BCAE826645EB2"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Minnesota</header>
						<paragraph id="H3CBCED2E1A5E4E00894C3929174647C5"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any
				provision of <external-xref legal-doc="usc-chapter" parsable-cite="usc-chapter/23/1">chapter 1</external-xref> of title 23, United States Code, the Secretary
				may—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H9AB3E082774A4B37B5B4AAE394E2E3E9"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">use funds authorized to carry out the
				emergency relief program under section 125 of such title for the repair and
				reconstruction of the Interstate I–35W bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota, that
				collapsed on August 1, 2007; and</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6F2D2E69FE18473BBF506F266BEFB147"><enum>(B)
				</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">use not to exceed $5,000,000
				of the funds made available for fiscal year 2007 for Federal Transit
				Administration Discretionary Programs, Bus and Bus Facilities (without any
				local matching funds requirement) for operating expenses of the Minnesota State
				department of transportation for actual and necessary costs of maintenance and
				operation, less the amount of fares earned, which are provided by the
				Metropolitan Council (of Minnesota) as a temporary substitute for highway
				traffic service following the collapse of the Interstate I–35W bridge in
				Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1, 2007, until highway traffic service is
				restored on such bridge.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H2C7BAF2076BE4BE9B194EBBA96A339EF"><enum>(2)</enum><header>Federal
				share</header><text>The Federal share of the cost of activities reimbursed
				under this subsection shall be 100
				percent.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
