		<official-title>To amend title 40, United States Code, to authorize the
		  use of Federal supply schedules for the acquisition of law enforcement,
		  security, and certain other related items by State and local
		  governments.</official-title>

		<section id="HFF9ADBA3C7BC472F8257B008EE9747B" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Local Preparedness Acquisition
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HC688905C108644CE88C50465C485100" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Authorization for
			 acquisition of law enforcement, security, and certain other related items by
			 State and local governments through Federal supply schedules</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Paragraph (1) of <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/40/502">section 502(c)</external-xref> of title 40,
			 United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="H441477F007004A03BA5552AF2C7BFB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>for automated</quote> and inserting the
			 following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="H7E98539F437843E4A1AD91A06C113DD" style="USC">
					<text>for the
			 following:</text><subparagraph id="H9062ED35719F40FBA2A5CBA5FC034CB9"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Automated</text>
					</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H80310A5A33854D7CA8F9F744EE7F1B43"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new subparagraph:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H125E87496A244549A7A609EDBFECEF2C" style="USC">
					<subparagraph id="H78C7B8FFF7F34A6CBBCA124DEE6E06EC"><enum>(B)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Alarm and signal systems, facility
				management systems, firefighting and rescue equipment, law enforcement and
				security equipment, marine craft and related equipment, special purpose
				clothing, and related services (as contained in Federal supply classification
				code group 84 or any amended or subsequent version of that Federal supply
				classification
				group).</text>
