		<official-title>To require the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve
		  System to continue to make available to the public on a weekly basis
		  information on the measure of the M3 monetary aggregate, and its components,
		  and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H53F8D58DCFC44BF49C46402223B421D3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Sunshine in Monetary Policy
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HA7AB443F3AEA413D9DBBC1472CD1F840"><enum>2.</enum><header>M3
			 monetary aggregate required to be published weekly</header>
			<subsection id="HBF2757FF9F9943F79C572184F5C867E5"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Notwithstanding the announcement by the Board of
			 Governors of the Federal Reserve System on November 10, 2005, the Board of
			 Governors of the Federal Reserve System shall continue, after May 1, 2007, to
			 compile and to publish on a weekly basis the measure of the M3 monetary
			 aggregate and the components of the M3 that are not included in the measure of
			 the M2 monetary aggregate.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HBFCDFEB7FC02401A97D68BCEDCC69CE"><enum>(b)</enum><header>M3 monetary
			 aggregate defined</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For
			 purposes of this section, the term <quote>M3 monetary aggregate</quote> means
			 the inclusive measure of money compiled by adding the following:</text>
				<paragraph id="H11E483544FE64FB88BECBD4BB200E91C"><enum>(1)</enum><header>M<enum-in-header>1</enum-in-header>
			 components</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Currency in
			 circulation (plus traveler’s checks), demand deposits, Negotiable Order of
			 Withdrawal (NOW) accounts, and similar interest-earning checking account
			 balances.</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9B54AEFAAEB645C7BC125609774FE745"><enum>(2)</enum><header>The non-M1
			 components of M2</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Household
			 holdings of savings deposits, small time deposits, and retail money market
			 mutual fund balances (exclusive of balances held in IRA and Keogh
			 accounts).</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HFD3C10B53EE74550AA49E101245F08BF"><enum>(3)</enum><header>The non-M2
			 components of M3</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Institutional money market mutual fund
			 balances and managed liabilities of depositories consisting of large time
			 deposits, repurchase agreements, and Eurodollars.</text>
