<section id="H8C8A98C980144DC698F30099E0DFFCE8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Disabled Farmers’ Market Nutrition Pilot Program of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text></section> 
<section id="HA77F61DBF10B401BB308C788C1652DFB"><enum>2.</enum><header>Farmers’ market nutrition pilot program for disabled individuals</header> 
<subsection id="HF5273DD656A74BEBB29ECBE743B8FAE1"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Findings</header><text>Congress finds that low-income disabled individuals suffer from similar forms of malnutrition as low-income seniors, and that the disabled population would reap nutritional benefits from such a farmers’ market voucher program where they are able to purchase fresh, healthy food from local farmers.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H151E38F767924A4DB1C7C3AFF01CDAC4"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Pilot program establishment</header> 
<paragraph id="HBFE6777C4384472A97D2A6EF6C1602BB" display-inline="yes-display-inline"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The Secretary of Agriculture shall carry out a pilot program with respect to the States specified in subsection (d) under which the Secretary creates a farmers’ market nutrition program for disabled individuals.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H61E87566D90E4F338C69182F0964DED0" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>Of the funds of the Commodity Credit Corporation, the Secretary of Agriculture shall use $1,000,000 for fiscal year 2008 to carry out this section, and such sums as necessary for fiscal years 2009 through 2013.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H77F88BA6C9B349F3B762821EEBB45B72"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Program purposes</header><text>The purposes of the farmers’ market nutrition pilot program are—</text> 
<paragraph id="H7626EC61584B4CAFAED75374FC5E65D0"><enum>(1)</enum><text>to provide resources in the form of fresh, nutritious, unprepared, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs to low-income disabled individuals;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3DBA738432A648D4BF60F1C2CEDBDC9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to increase the domestic consumption of agricultural commodities by expanding or aiding in the expansion of domestic farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HD8E43126942A457C918BBEEFE8C9325"><enum>(3)</enum><text>to develop or aid in the development of new and additional farmers’ markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs.</text></paragraph></subsection> 
<subsection id="H75502CFE4C644C59BFFA01ACABFA6E1B"><enum>(d)</enum><header>States</header><text>The Secretary shall use funds referred to in subsection (b)(2) for pilot programs on the West Coast in California, in the North East, in the South East, and in the Mid-West.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H526FCF687A12449298BE66102400C7E3"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Regulations</header><text>The Secretary may issue such regulations as the Secretary considers necessary to carry out the farmers’ market nutrition program.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H1F96B2AD7C18451BAB80370033904519"><enum>(f)</enum><header>Definition</header><text>For purposes of this section, the term <quote>disabled individual</quote> means an individual who has a disability as defined in section 3 of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/12102">42 U.S.C. 12102</external-xref>).</text></subsection></section>
