<section id="HA46EDF416A77432DADDFBCED6F9BEF19" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Exception to 60-day limit on Medicare reciprocal billing arrangements in case of physicians ordered to active duty in the Armed Forces</header> 
<subsection id="HAA1E1D898771490F00B19CF4DC33F0A4"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1842(b)(6)(D)(iii) of the Social Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395u">42 U.S.C. 1395u(b)(6)(D)(iii)</external-xref>) is amended by inserting after <quote>of more than 60 days</quote> the following: <quote>or are provided (before January 1, 2008) over a longer continuous period during all of which the first physician has been called or ordered to active duty as a member of a reserve component of the Armed Forces</quote>.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H9A3FECDB60934128972FB6DBC85A311"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective date</header><text>The amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply to services furnished on or after the date of the enactment of this section. </text> </subsection></section>
