		<official-title>To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act to require
		  staff working with developmentally disabled individuals to call emergency
		  services in the event of a life-threatening situation.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H82E6CBC9F68545A2BA47CA6B80A15531" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as <quote>Danielle’s
			 Act</quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H17EE7F4E8F4440E7A211D87B83D79013"><enum>2.</enum><header>Requirement of
			 staff working with developmentally disabled persons to call emergency services
			 in the event of a life-threatening situation</header>
			<subsection id="HD6EA146164F14628939E14C8435D973E"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Requirement</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 1902(a) of the Social Security Act
			 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1396a">42 U.S.C. 1396a(a)</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HC87D6917A2D04B5DAD9E61DE6BF88834"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in paragraph (66),
			 by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HB2ECEA960883431FBD2661FD3777BDE6"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in paragraph (67),
			 by striking the period at the end and inserting <quote>; and</quote>;
			 and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H9E48A9CB83614AA6AD986E83DAED5D9E"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 paragraph (67) the following new paragraph:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H75CB8118159B4759983D003035CB40E8" style="OLC">
						<paragraph id="HA389795BD2BB43AD98DC9261651F2BB4"><enum>(68)</enum><text>provide, in
				accordance with regulations of the Secretary, that direct care staff providing
				health-related services to a person with a developmental disability or
				traumatic brain injury are required to call the 911 emergency telephone service
				or equivalent emergency management service for assistance in the event of a
				life-threatening emergency to such person and to report such call to the
				appropriate State agency or
				department.</text>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H013648E2910A46EDB300786847961845"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective
			 Date</header><text>The amendments made by subsection (a) take effect on January
			 1, 2008.</text>
