<section id="H2C6246AD9F6D4261AA8B1808AAE573D8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Definition of member of special exposure cohort</header> 
<subsection id="H92808735C908433382FF6D4BD72D3BB3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>Section 3621(14) of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/7384l">42 U.S.C. 7384l(14)</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subparagraph:</text> 
<quoted-block style="OLC" id="H94A2E82A429641BCAE23A93746AC5FF4" display-inline="no-display-inline"> 
<subparagraph id="H8BF92A9B1DAB4DE284EC71CA2C1353A0"><enum>(D)</enum><text>The employee was so employed for a number of work days aggregating at least 250 work days before January 1, 2006, by the Department of Energy or a Department of Energy contractor or subcontractor at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory in California.</text></subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H6ADCAE297CBF4AC1AD79F9F766C953C0"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Reapplication</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A claim that an individual qualifies, by reason of section 3621(14)(D) of the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act of 2000 (as added by <internal-xref idref="H92808735C908433382FF6D4BD72D3BB3" legis-path="3.(a)">subsection (a)</internal-xref> of this Act), for compensation or benefits under such Act shall be considered for compensation or benefits notwithstanding any denial of any other claim for compensation with respect to such individual.</text></subsection></section>
