		<official-title>To amend title 32, United States Code, to provide members
		  of the National Guard additional time to transition to civilian life when they
		  return from active duty in support of contingency operations or homeland
		  defense missions.</official-title>

		<section id="HC69D0E34306849B28EBA9FDD2209CC80" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Additional time for
			 reintegration of members of the National Guard returning from deployments to
			 civilian life</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 325 of
			 title 32, United States Code, is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HE51D59AC18DE4C58A421F77ADD28CDE"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in
			 subsection (b), by striking <quote>So far</quote> and inserting <quote>Subject
			 to subsection (c), so far</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H8EDEE7036BF04E9D94872D7F76F66B3B"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by adding at the
			 end the following new subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB23310FA4DB14C029091C2E0ECE21F7B" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="HB12E329BC0C1415D88C7D818E5972BE2"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Transition of
				members of the National Guard returning from deployments</header><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="HD8B898D0F23B4F79BF2F00746C04F676"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">If a member of the National Guard serves on
				active duty for one year or more in support of a contingency operation or
				homeland defense mission, the member shall be given the option of serving on
				full-time National Guard duty for up to 90 days upon being relieved from that
				active duty in order to ease the transition of the member to civilian
				life.</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="HC53BDAA1E66F447189DCEF00B600EFF6" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Reintegration programs for members of the
				National Guard serving on full-time National Guard duty under paragraph (1) may
				include the following:</text>
							<subparagraph id="H9317E7E074B34BD58FECEE4D37881DA6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>Mandatory decompression time of at
				least 15 days.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H934BF3A13670451DBD77ADCE96542FFE"><enum>(B)</enum><text>Education and employment
				workshops.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7F7804B8C7684E9888AC1DF62CFDCD5C"><enum>(C)</enum><text>Financial counseling.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H846295897A6148C69F2DA8F996E7573D"><enum>(D)</enum><text>Health and welfare briefings for
				members and their dependents.</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3F8F52076DBC4859863B9DB51D660091"><enum>(E)</enum><text>Not more than 20 hours of disaster
				mitigation or emergency response duties in or in the vicinity of the home of
				record of the member.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H230571E3DFE949459DE4D125B64D5100" indent="up1"><enum>(3)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary of Defense shall provide
				funds to States, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, and
				the District of Columbia in such amounts as are necessary to cover costs
				incurred for—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H886ECA96B3B64CA996D6CBAA486B711F"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">the pay, allowances, clothing, subsistence,
				gratuities, travel, and related expenses of members serving on full-time
				National Guard duty under paragraph (1); and</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H6173147C54D8402080E1F565AA7C80C2"><enum>(B)</enum><text>reintegration programs provided under
				paragraph (2).</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H9244084569394409B836C53293ED7B7B" indent="up1"><enum>(4)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The Secretary shall submit to Congress, the
				Chief of the National Guard Bureau, the Governor of each State, the
				Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands, and the commanding
				general of the District of Columbia National Guard an annual report specifying
				the number of members of the National Guard choosing the option to serve on
				full-time National Guard duty upon being relieved from active duty, the number
				of days so served, and the types of reintegration programs offered under
				paragraph (2) and their utilization rates by
				members.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
