		<legis-type>A BILL</legis-type>
		<official-title>To authorize National Mall Liberty Fund D.C. to establish
		  a memorial on Federal land in the District of Columbia at Constitution Gardens
		  previously approved to honor free persons and slaves who fought for
		  independence, liberty, and justice for all during the American
		  Revolution.</official-title>

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H410F8244FA764C0489E21FA568D099E2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>National Liberty Memorial
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HBFC6968E932A4DB8B9097634F22816AF"><enum>2.</enum><header>Finding</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Congress finds that the contributions of
			 free persons and slaves who fought during the American Revolution were of
			 preeminent historical and lasting significance to the United States, as
			 required by <external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/40/8908">section 8908(b)(1)</external-xref> of title 40, United States Code.</text>
		</section><section id="H9A195F872B4E43D0ACC6130635B510CF"><enum>3.</enum><header>The national
			 liberty memorial</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Public Law
			 99–558 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/40/8903">40 U.S.C. 8903</external-xref> note; 100 Stat. 3144) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HF8D083104B604C0D9E7C596F75CF11DF"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in section 1—</text>
				<subparagraph id="H42B206BE206C476E81ACDDF89B8E6D"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the first sentence—</text>
					<clause id="HB5000110A4D54C77B1DA38183F2BC34B"><enum>(i)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking <quote>The Black Revolutionary
			 War Patriots Foundation is authorized to establish a memorial</quote> and
			 inserting the following—</text>
						<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H78AAF107DBE24CCCB76ED1104FE8C4F" style="OLC">
							<subsection id="HCB43A16EBDBD409E91895BC933E7E71"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">National Mall Liberty
				Fund D.C. may establish a memorial (referred to in this Act as the
				<quote>memorial</quote>)</text>
							</subsection><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
					</clause><clause id="HB3CD39D7BC0F491B8617DDE1A53CB0B0"><enum>(ii)</enum><text>by
			 striking <quote>Federal land in the District of Columbia and its
			 environs</quote> and inserting <quote>the Federal land in the District of
			 Columbia described in subsection (b)</quote>; and</text>
					</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="H3C87F3BFC6A94AC998FCC85300D99CAF"><enum>(B)</enum><text>by striking the
			 second sentence and inserting the following:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB3F3870471244A04B3E1D17F6E1D2823" style="OLC">
						<subsection id="H1687DBBC227B473D8EBADC69E8004EDB"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Description of
				land</header><text>The Federal land referred to in subsection (a) is the
				portion of land at Constitution Gardens, located on the south side of
				Constitution Lake and west of the island, that was previously selected as the
				site for the memorial.</text>
						</subsection><subsection id="HCA90427FE42649AF8311E88C18E5D287"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Applicable
				law</header><text>The memorial shall be established in accordance with chapter
				89 of title 40, United States Code.</text>
						</subsection><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H9274D60DEC9E4509A1E1CED00A0CF4D"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in
			 section 2, by striking <quote>The Black Revolutionary War Patriots
			 Foundation</quote> and inserting <quote>National Mall Liberty Fund
			 D.C.</quote>.</text>
