		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H749DA671E1BB44668F1E24AB09B9F627" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Jean Lafitte National Historical Park
			 and Preserve Boundary Adjustment Act of 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="HBF4DE1FACDD14CE19FCE3D138D9500A6"><enum>2.</enum><header>Jean lafitte
			 national historical park and preserve boundary adjustment</header>
			<subsection id="HB95C15E785014EEC8BF66D67F2828201"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text>Section 901 of the National Parks and Recreation Act of
			 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/230">16 U.S.C. 230</external-xref>) is amended in the second sentence by striking
			 <quote>twenty thousand acres generally depicted on the map entitled
			 <quote>Barataria Marsh Unit-Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and
			 Preserve</quote> numbered 90,000B and dated April 1978,</quote> and inserting
			 <quote>23,000 acres generally depicted on the map titled <quote>Boundary Map,
			 Barataria Preserve Unit, Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and
			 Preserve</quote>, numbered 467/80100, and dated August 2002,</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="HB0173F993D72435E8225A46F40BB007B"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Acquisition of
			 land</header><text>Section 902 of the National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978
			 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/230a">16 U.S.C. 230a</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HDA63DF8F05D746E7AC9800AFF46273B8"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in subsection
			 (a)—</text>
					<subparagraph id="H807075C024944FCF97D8F3F87CF8ABF6"><enum>(A)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>(a) Within the</quote> and all that follows through the first sentence
			 and inserting the following:</text>

							<subsection id="H47B34B3C18F947ED95ECE3225917F800"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
				General</header>
								<paragraph id="H8A948A753F1A4A43A69830DAA6104695"><enum>(1)</enum><header>Barataria
				preserve unit</header>
									<subparagraph id="H2D5FF5FE54D74F968F6C60A74147CD93"><enum>(A)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text>The Secretary may acquire any land, water, and interests
				in land and water within the boundary of the Barataria Preserve Unit, as
				depicted on the map described in section 901, by donation, purchase with
				donated or appropriated funds, but only with the consent of the owner, transfer
				from any other Federal agency, or exchange.</text>
									</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H114E706D567848BFA0468D8C0012917D"><enum>(B)</enum><header>Limitations</header>
										<clause id="H70A14DBAF275445497CA17B53671DB18"><enum>(i)</enum><header>Federal
				land</header><text>Any Federal land acquired in the areas identified on the map
				as the <quote>Bayou aux Carpes Addition</quote> and <quote>CIT Tract
				Addition</quote> (the <quote>Areas</quote>) shall be transferred without
				consideration to the administrative jurisdiction of the National Park
				Service.</text>
										</clause><clause id="H74F349664E5541FEA1563F81626CECB4"><enum>(ii)</enum><header>Easements</header><text>Any
				Federal land in the Areas that is transferred under clause (I) shall be subject
				to any easements that have been agreed to by the Secretary and the Secretary of
				the Army.</text>
										</clause><clause id="H38F48015F2E849CA87A45FCD828B21C4"><enum>(iii)</enum><header>Private
				interests</header><text>Any private land, water, or interests in land and water
				in the Barataria Preserve Unit may be acquired by the Secretary only with the
				consent of the
				owner.</text>
										</clause></subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="HD66CD0DFD501491BB8CAA1598054960"><enum>(B)</enum><text>in the second
			 sentence, by striking <quote>The Secretary may also</quote> and inserting the
			 following:</text>

							<paragraph id="H56E723E6ABBA41FE911F011CD44C00EC"><enum>(2)</enum><header>French
				quarter</header><text>The Secretary

			 sentence, by striking <quote>Lands, waters, and interests therein</quote> and
			 inserting the following:</text>

					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H1CDB8ACCCFF44B148DB20000F1A3E43"><enum>(D)</enum><text>in the fourth
			 sentence, by striking <quote>In acquiring</quote> and inserting the
			 following:</text>
						<quoted-block id="H8AA3DDC089434F3BBC1D4500C19EA905" style="OLC">
							<paragraph id="H06F5DE23E92E46BF950033866C4315C5"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Acquisition of
				oil and gas rights</header><text>In
				acquiring</text>
							</paragraph><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H5B1D885C402E49D0BA668556B8953F23"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 subsections (b) through (f) and inserting the following:</text>

						<subsection id="HFFD573928D2B4E1B9B4B402CFD75F85C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Resource
				Protection</header><text>With respect to the land, water, and interests in land
				and water of the Barataria Preserve Unit, the Secretary shall preserve and
				protect—</text>
							<paragraph id="H35581ECAC5A140C900E230ABA9E60700"><enum>(1)</enum><text>fresh water
				drainage patterns;</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="HC1C57C8A56DF4BCDBF3F47657C538D10"><enum>(2)</enum><text>vegetative
				cover;</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="HA7DE8EB30ADB47A68171EB85EAF3B6F2"><enum>(3)</enum><text>the integrity of
				ecological and biological systems; and</text>
							</paragraph><paragraph id="H862F33DBF4F645BFB435C78103007CC4"><enum>(4)</enum><text>water and air
				quality.</text>
							</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>;
				and</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HCCC43C1CE02B4A6C96BEAEC3A2A83BF8"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subsection (g) as subsection (c).</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H7C77629EC1E747F4A4DB5B241030213C"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Hunting,
			 Fishing, and Trapping</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section
			 905 of the National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/230d">16 U.S.C. 230d</external-xref>) is
			 amended in the first sentence—</text>
				<paragraph id="H20FC1AA6B8BF4FB49F97845CA8307BB"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 inserting after <quote>Barataria Marsh Unit</quote> “, but only as to land,
			 water, or interests in land and water managed by the Secretary”; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H1B08339DC381426CAECAF4ABA2EFFBF5"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>within the core area</quote> and all that follows through <quote>he
			 may</quote> and inserting <quote>the Secretary may</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H846518FFBC35491F93FBEA3FB9D955C8"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Administration</header><text>Section
			 906 of the National Parks and Recreation Act of 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/230e">16 U.S.C. 230e</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HCDDFB29810C546C8A9A5141C641A983"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by
			 striking the first sentence; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H3E46CDFEA1DD4E46AB536194B62E892F"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in the second
			 sentence, by striking <quote>Pending such establishment and thereafter
			 the</quote> and inserting <quote>The</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section><section id="H35D730287FDE496BA07DB878F24C26B6"><enum>3.</enum><header>References in
			 law</header>
			<subsection id="H1D397E45177E4BDDAED23DA6DF3693C"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text>Any reference in a law (including regulations), map,
			 document, paper, or other record of the United States—</text>
				<paragraph id="HB1E1303DF2A7453CBD18C5BFBED66664"><enum>(1)</enum><text>to the Barataria
			 Marsh Unit shall be considered to be a reference to the Barataria Preserve
			 Unit; or</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="HF1357A3579FA48668D8D1C749C8B5038"><enum>(2)</enum><text>to the Jean
			 Lafitte National Historical Park shall be considered to be a reference to the
			 Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HA16F5B931AF74EEF00B99FC7D400CD04"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming
			 Amendments</header><text>Title IX of the National Parks and Recreation Act of
			 1978 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/16/230">16 U.S.C. 230 et seq.</external-xref>) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HFB55D20AE49D48F78D2BD1B1AFF7E612"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>Barataria Marsh Unit</quote> each place it appears and inserting
			 <quote>Barataria Preserve Unit</quote>; and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H01EF2CB887F148FBBD61E18E27B38407"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>Jean Lafitte National Historical Park</quote> each place it appears and
			 inserting <quote>Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and
			 Preserve</quote>.</text>
				</paragraph></subsection></section></legis-body>
