		<official-title>To amend the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970
		  to provide for coverage under that Act of employees of State and local

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H45E93E4080C0428C9719D31DB3EECDAB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Fairness for State and Local Workers
			 Act</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H6BA9FF12967F407ABA3F3222778111C"><enum>2.</enum><header>Coverage of State
			 and Local employees</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section
			 3(5) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/29/652">29 U.S.C. 652(5)</external-xref>) is
			 amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="HAECE799B339846D6B0C2F1F8B391D4A3"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by inserting
			 <quote>including a State or political subdivision of a State,</quote> after
			 <quote>employees,</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="H27C83CADAC1B43158BEA9F426D745374"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 <quote>or any State or political subdivision of a State</quote>.</text>
