<section id="HDEBF7E0F2579409787EEDED345CADCB2" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Exclusion of certain compensation of members of the Armed Forces</header> 
<subsection id="H6BE3CE65A7DE4A85A572A7986C01619B"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text><external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/26/112">Section 112</external-xref> of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (relating to certain combat zone compensation of members of the Armed Forces) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H9C0D5E49056A42DABD4C43E83C2E48A4"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Partial exclusion of non-combat zone compensation</header><text>Gross income does not include 2 percent of so much of the compensation received for active service, and inactive-duty training, as a member of the Armed Forces as would (but for this subsection) be includible in gross income.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></subsection> 
<subsection id="H78E7CA5A4ACA4548ABE28F30C3F4DEA5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming amendments</header> 
<paragraph id="HF968333FC2A2452B00053DCCD385677E"><enum>(1)</enum><text>The heading for section 112 of such Code is amended by striking <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">combat zone</header-in-text></quote>.</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H07541D8A02424A6CB0055FCC41E26DAC"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The table of sections for part III of subchapter B of chapter 1 of such Code is amended by striking the item relating to section 112 and inserting the following new item:</text>
