		<official-title>To amend title XIX of the Social Security Act with
		  respect to meeting the citizenship documentation requirement for children born
		  in the United States.</official-title>

		<section id="H2E1C8E1E6725436AA0F3CC90EADE64B8" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Meeting Medicaid citizenship
			 documentation requirement for children born in the United States</header>
			<subsection id="H434757C7587E475E8E1CE564066500F3"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Effective as if
			 included in the enactment of section 6036(a)(2) of the Deficit Reduction Act of
			 2005 (<external-xref legal-doc="public-law" parsable-cite="pl/109/171">Public Law 109–171</external-xref>), section 1903(x)(3)(B) of the Social Security Act (42
			 U.S.C. 1396b(x)(3)(B)), as inserted by such section 6036(a)(2), is
			 amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="H0C543C27B60D47A2AA6C98AB213D461B"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 clause (v) as clause (vi); and</text>
				</paragraph><paragraph id="H8F339945DBE34DB4834653F690C74CAD"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting after
			 clause (iv) the following new clause:</text>
					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H5D872E4B15494A39A068728EA05C4147" style="OLC">
						<clause id="H0F99DD34618E42BAAE8B002815607110" indent="up1"><enum>(v)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">For a child if medical assistance is
				available under this title for part or all of the costs of the child’s birth in
				the United States, any claim for payment for such assistance.</text>
						</clause><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="HAC983122FE424FCCAF616FD11420DB1C"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Construction</header><text>Nothing
			 in the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, including section 6036 of such Act, shall
			 be construed as changing the requirement of section 1902(e)(4) of the Social
			 Security Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1396a">42 U.S.C. 1396a(e)(4)</external-xref>), that provides deemed eligibility during
			 the first year of life for a child born in the United States to an alien mother
			 for whom medical assistance for the delivery of such child is made available as
			 treatment of an emergency medical condition pursuant to section 1903(v) of such
			 Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1395b">42 U.S.C. 1395b(v)</external-xref>).</text>
