		<official-title>To amend section 9 of the United States Housing Act of
		  1937 to ensure that operating and capital assistance is provided for certain
		  previously assisted public housing dwelling units.</official-title>

		<section id="H9A1044A197394E70B46C8F984746A3B7" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Public Housing Equal Treatment Act of
			 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H7F719EAC35254083A92364D67D9704F4"><enum>2.</enum><header>Treatment of
			 certain previously assisted public housing</header>
			<subsection id="H44BA6433D68D4360987CBD7CC405F7D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>Section 9 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 (42
			 U.S.C. 1437g) is amended by adding at the end the following new
			 subsection:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HB926556B0C514CAB85829761CC264C1F" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="HA0A0519B38D2442CA5AC5B76FD0097BB"><enum>(o)</enum><header>Ensuring correct
				assistance</header>
						<paragraph id="H9C3D13A181004546B89CAFD7A52605B"><enum>(1)</enum><header>In
				general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Notwithstanding any
				other provision of law, in determining the allocations for each public housing
				agency from the Operating and Capital Funds pursuant to this section, the
				Secretary shall include as dwelling units eligible for such assistance all
				public housing dwelling units that—</text>
							<subparagraph id="H43E1C24D8C9A44F481A4C5E5158812C3"><enum>(A)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">are owned by the public housing agency at
				the time of such determination; and</text>
							</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H5076C7AA69114BB4B549A91C2DBDE59"><enum>(B)</enum><text>before the date of
				the enactment of the <short-title>Public Housing Equal
				Treatment Act of 2007</short-title> have received development, operating,
				capital, or modernization assistance pursuant to the terms of any agreement
				with Department of Housing and Urban Development authorizing the agency to
				expend such funds on behalf of such
				units.</text>
							</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</subsection><subsection id="H1274FDF8B7F44C298C3F2D45CADEE5C5"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Applicability</header><text>The
			 amendment made by subsection (a) shall apply with respect to assistance under
			 section 9 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 for fiscal year 2008 and
			 each fiscal year thereafter.</text>
