<legis-type>AN ACT</legis-type> 
<official-title display="yes">To amend the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 to extend the authority to withhold from public availability a financial disclosure report filed by an individual who is a judicial officer or judicial employee, to the extent necessary to protect the safety of that individual or a family member of that individual, and for other purposes.</official-title>

<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H08C9E20EF7EA4743A9F004065FA076F3" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Judicial Disclosure Responsibility Act</short-title></quote>.</text> </section> 
<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H3BCACA82186C402281FA15B6F8469275"><enum>2.</enum><header>Protection of family members</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 105(b)(3) of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H6FB6932030604042AA341EBCC4B00801"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraph (A), by inserting <quote>or a family member of that individual</quote> after <quote>that individual</quote>; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="HC850065FC4CE4A490058CE7697D2CACE"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in subparagraph (B)(i), by inserting <quote>or a family member of that individual</quote> after <quote>the report</quote>.</text> </paragraph></section> 
<section id="H12B694CEFAEE4998B7AD99B0849C759"><enum>3.</enum><header>Financial disclosure reports</header> 
<subsection id="H8EE7B229E29944AEA5F7D0375663D970"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Extension of authority</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 105(b)(3) of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended by striking <quote>2005</quote> each place that term appears and inserting <quote>2009</quote>.</text> </subsection> 
<subsection id="H8DE87A4DE5E74253869156F4E7C51601"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Report contents</header><text>Section 105(b)(3)(C) of the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 (5 U.S.C. App.) is amended—</text> 
<paragraph id="H0EEC69FD045049CEBC779227ABC35FA1"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in clause (ii), by striking <quote>and</quote> at the end;</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H8AE59DDC95C04945A1056EE53EF8584"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in clause (iii), by striking the period at the end and inserting a semicolon; and</text> </paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H3F7F998D96CA420A8239EE70C6035835"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the end the following:</text>

<clause id="H7DD1E39B95B8423CA3FCC265ABAF006D" indent="up2"><enum>(iv)</enum><text>the nature or type of information redacted;</text> </clause> 
<clause id="HA188DE9508054329AF26F4B0D8ECF413" indent="up2"><enum>(v)</enum><text>what steps or procedures are in place to ensure that sufficient information is available to litigants to determine if there is a conflict of interest;<pagebreak/></text> </clause> 
<clause id="H87FB6C1E0C0A482700B37DC528D4548B" indent="up2"><enum>(vi)</enum><text>principles used to guide implementation of redaction authority; and</text> </clause>
