			 period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for
			 consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the

		<section display-inline="no-display-inline" id="H8CA1DD4A12D14A6696B001C8FF639FB" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the
			 <quote><short-title>Insurance Industry Competition Act of
			 2007</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="H123A8DEC49FA4809ACE79000DEC5E617"><enum>2.</enum><header>Antitrust
			 enforcement authority</header>
			<subsection id="H2E34F7F6ADD94CB0A15BA96EB6E8F36F"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 general</header><text>The Act of March 9, 1945 (59 Stat. 33; 15 U.S.C. 1011 et
			 seq.) (commonly known as the McCarran-Ferguson Act) is amended—</text>
				<paragraph id="HDF70E6E1D05141D089553609F2432932"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in section 2(b)
			 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1012">15 U.S.C. 1012(b)</external-xref>), by—</text>
					<subparagraph id="HFF5BE6220E8A4A2EB6C8DFAF30D0E7FE"><enum>(A)</enum><text>inserting
			 <quote>as it relates to unfair methods of competition,</quote> after
			 <quote>Commission Act, as amended,</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="H7C4906E6ECE6474AAD82653C05A511B4"><enum>(B)</enum><text>striking <quote>to
			 the extent that such business is not regulated by State law</quote> and
			 inserting <quote>The Federal Trade Commission Act, as it relates to areas other
			 than unfair methods of competition, shall be applicable to the business of
			 insurance to the extent that such business is not regulated by State
			 law.</quote>; and</text>
					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="H0FB43DA0BA35462AB53874B706FD1FD9"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking
			 section 3 (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/15/1013">15 U.S.C. 1013</external-xref>).</text>
				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="H25C13751854E4EB8B3002B02D78D393F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Federal Trade
			 Commission Act</header><text>Section 6 of the Federal Trade Commission Act (15
			 U.S.C. 46) is amended by striking the third undesignated paragraph following
			 subsection (i).</text>
			</subsection></section><section id="H6E8E567F408842BDAF9CEC20D32C2FFC"><enum>3.</enum><header>Joint enforcement
			 policy statement</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The
			 Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission may issue joint
			 statements of their antitrust enforcement policies regarding joint activities
			 in the business of insurance.</text>
