		<official-title>To provide for agreements between Federal agencies to

		  partner or transfer funds to accomplish erosion goals relating to the coastal

		  area of Louisiana, and for other purposes.</official-title>

			<enum>1.</enum>

			<header>Short title</header>

			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the

			 <quote>

					<short-title>Together-Immediately Defeating

			 Erosion Act of 2005</short-title>

				</quote>.</text>

			<enum>2.</enum>

			<header>Conservation, protection, and restoration programs</header>

			<subsection id="idCF38E51FF31D44D4BD28CD68B6AAB46E">

				<enum>(a)</enum>

				<header>Purpose</header>

				<text>The purpose of this Act is to encourage Federal agencies to carry

			 out comprehensive, interagency projects relating to the conservation,

			 protection, and restoration of the coastal area of the State of

			 Louisiana.</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="id16F9BECFCBBA47F587AB1B840E114552">

				<enum>(b)</enum>

				<header>Use of funds</header>

				<paragraph id="id2CF150F51B0C4BB8A9468481C6CFED33">

					<enum>(1)</enum>

					<header>In general</header>

					<text>Any funds authorized to be appropriated under section 3 shall be

			 used in a manner that is consistent with a multi-agency, comprehensive

			 conservation, protection, and restoration program for the coastal area of

			 Louisiana.</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="id248F5F42C57C4C019C50F4C8C778B6E9">

					<enum>(2)</enum>

					<header>Secretary of commerce</header>

					<text>The Secretary of Commerce, acting through the National Oceanic

			 and Atmospheric Administration, shall use funds authorized to be appropriated

			 under section 3(a)—</text>

					<subparagraph id="id29A638BCE1664A329F138DA7CC8C7B6C">

						<enum>(A)</enum>

						<text>to collect data relating to the coastal area of the State of

			 Louisiana regarding—</text>

						<clause id="id164C3257486B4019908CBA94125CC93F">

							<enum>(i)</enum>

							<text>environmental restoration;</text>

						</clause><clause id="idD28DC84506384A4B9BA800ADAE4B84FE">

							<enum>(ii)</enum>

							<text>resource protection; and</text>

						</clause><clause id="id1B568412EBA84CEB99765F3DD1FFB63F">

							<enum>(iii)</enum>

							<text>protection and recovery of fisheries;</text>

						</clause></subparagraph><subparagraph id="id801F41C13A7142A08633A603B1520E88">

						<enum>(B)</enum>

						<text>to carry out a restoration project relating to the coastal area

			 of the State of Louisiana, as the Secretary determines to be appropriate;

			 or</text>

					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idE9055BEC21294E7C8764F54D3FC9EFAA">

						<enum>(C)</enum>

						<text>to enter into an agreement with another Federal agency to partner

			 or transfer funds to achieve the purpose described in subsection (a).</text>

					</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idEC48A23136BB4542B12D5A7C1F72016A">

					<enum>(3)</enum>

					<header>Secretary of the interior</header>

					<text>The Secretary of the Interior, acting through the Geological

			 Survey, shall use funds authorized to be appropriated under section

			 3(b)—</text>

					<subparagraph id="id855ACD8DD41C40B8A847ECA56D21AAD9">

						<enum>(A)</enum>

						<text>to collect biological, ecological, environmental, geological, and

			 geographical data relating to the coastal area of the State of

			 Louisiana;</text>

					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id977BFADAC974441C8B91B7F9A8F14369">

						<enum>(B)</enum>

						<text>to monitor and analyze the data collected under subparagraph (A)

			 or paragraph (2)(A);</text>

					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id4EC25853785842ADA0E389A0EE81E8DC">

						<enum>(C)</enum>

						<text>to carry out any other appropriate activity, as determined by the

			 Secretary, in accordance with subsection (a); or</text>

					</subparagraph><subparagraph id="id1B2BF1A6B3074A8CB69835EE0822AA26">

						<enum>(D)</enum>

						<text>to enter into an agreement with another Federal agency to partner

			 or transfer funds to achieve the purpose described in subsection (a).</text>

					</subparagraph></paragraph></subsection></section><section id="idDCCDD228EDC24930A41DE2A062EF10CF">

			<enum>3.</enum>

			<header>Authorization of appropriations</header>

			<subsection id="id0DA33862BD0D4CE889559A2376BF5538">

				<enum>(a)</enum>

				<header>Department of Commerce</header>

				<text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section

			 2(b)(2) $50,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2006 through 2016.</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="idC7B679855EDD481CAF5F58803FDB8BFD">

				<enum>(b)</enum>

				<header>Department of the Interior</header>

				<text>There is authorized to be appropriated to carry out section

			 2(b)(3) $32,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2006 through 2016.</text>
