			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the

			 <quote><short-title>Christopher Kangas Fallen Firefighter

			 Apprentice Act</short-title></quote>.</text>

			<enum>2.</enum>

			<header>Expansion of definition of firefighter to include apprentices

			 and trainees</header>

			<text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 1204(4) of the

			 <act-name parsable-cite="OCCSS">Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of

			 1968</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/3796b(4)">42 U.S.C. 3796b(4)</external-xref>) is amended

			 by inserting <quote>, regardless of age, status as an apprentice or trainee, or

			 duty restrictions imposed because of age or status as an apprentice or

			 trainee,</quote> after <quote>fire department</quote>.</text>

			 date</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">The amendment made by

			 this Act shall apply with respect to deaths and injuries which occur on or

			 after May 4, 2002.</text>
