		<official-title>To extend oversight and accountability related to United
		  States reconstruction funds and efforts in Iraq by extending the termination
		  date of the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq
		  Reconstruction.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Iraq Reconstruction Accountability
			 Act of 2006</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="idD30123916299437D879FB049EEAD553F"><enum>2.</enum><header>Modification of
			 the termination date for the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq
			 Reconstruction</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 3001(o)
			 of the Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act for Defense and for the
			 Reconstruction of Iraq and Afghanistan, 2004 (Public Law 108–106; 117 Stat.
			 1238; 5 U.S.C. App., note to section 8G of Public Law 95–452), as amended by
			 section 1054(b) of the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for
			 Fiscal Year 2007 (Public Law 109–364), is amended to read as follows:</text>
			<quoted-block act-name="" id="id0B9082052DD44E5F8438D0FCF7077C93" style="OLC">
				<subsection id="id1B6A53F0317A485DA8B017FCBB77E85E"><enum>(o)</enum><header>Termination</header><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="idEB08D60EEC434F0DAC4E12C09E83B138"><enum>(1)</enum><subparagraph commented="no" display-inline="yes-display-inline" id="idE7F1545CCEA945FEB688D586659C2FE4"><enum>(A)</enum><text>The Office of the
				Inspector General shall terminate 10 months after 80 percent of the funds
				appropriated or otherwise made available to the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction
				Fund have been expended.</text>
						</subparagraph><subparagraph id="idE2C3B88CC02340208E8E2A41EF1F13A5" indent="up2"><enum>(B)</enum><text>For purposes of calculating the
				termination of the Office of the Inspector General under this subsection, any
				United States funds appropriated or otherwise made available for fiscal year
				2006 for the reconstruction of Iraq, irrespective of the designation of such
				funds, shall be deemed to be amounts appropriated or otherwise made available
				to the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction Fund.</text>
						</subparagraph></paragraph><paragraph id="idC2CACB5679CB4D99B939847CDE91472B" indent="up1"><enum>(2)</enum><text>The Special Inspector General for
				Iraq Reconstruction shall, prior to the termination of the Office of the
				Special Inspector General under paragraph (1), prepare a final forensic audit
				report on all funds deemed to be amounts appropriated or otherwise made
				available to the Iraq Relief and Reconstruction
				Fund.</text>
