		<section id="id772F2329C8214E41BE66702557753C11" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Extension of generalized
			 system of preferences</header>
			<subsection id="id79A601AA3D094E27BF3ECC1ED605289D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In
			 General</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 505 of the
			 Trade Act of 1974 (19 U.S. C. 2465) is amended by striking <quote>December 31,
			 2006</quote> and inserting <quote>December 31, 2009</quote>.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="id248864AD61AE4CC4B4F3CC4DF1D00891"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Factor
			 affecting country designation</header><text>In addition to the factors
			 affecting a country's designation as a beneficiary developing country listed
			 under section 502(c) of the Trade Act of 1974 and the factors affecting the
			 designation of a country as a beneficiary sub-Saharan African country under
			 section 506A of such Act, the President may take into account the country's
			 position and level of cooperation with the United States in multilateral trade
			 negotiations.</text>
			</subsection><subsection id="id8D84AD5F9D8145E88A79F36F27C6DF41"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Effective
			 date</header><text>The provisions of this section shall take effect on the date
			 that is 15 days after the date of the enactment of this Act.</text>
