		<official-title>To amend the Public Health Service Act to prohibit the
		  solicitation or acceptance of tissue from fetuses gestated for research
		  purposes, and for other purposes.</official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short
			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as
			 the <quote><short-title>Fetus Farming Prohibition Act of
			 2006</short-title></quote>.</text>
		</section><section id="ID4c89d56586654aed95c367704f4af2e9"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibition of
			 the solicitation or acceptance of tissue from fetuses gestated for research
			 purposes</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 498B of the
			 Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 289g–2) is amended—</text>
			<paragraph id="ID4a8d05a4c74f4db485e9da1bf6dff61e"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by redesignating
			 subsections (c) and (d) as subsections (d) and (e), respectively;</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="ID344c168881464a50a23da4396df89fdf"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by inserting
			 after subsection (b) the following:</text>
				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC28C40492E3B4BE4919E3D6B11B365B2" style="OLC">
					<subsection id="ID6a9d00f0611240e8b9b5bcc66171c018"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Solicitation or
				acceptance of tissue from fetuses gestated for research
				purposes</header><text>It shall be unlawful for any person or entity involved
				or engaged in interstate commerce to—</text>
						<paragraph id="ID8fdc36c842154b6da0d3f7d05fe9302d"><enum>(1)</enum><text>solicit or
				knowingly acquire, receive, or accept a donation of human fetal tissue knowing
				that a human pregnancy was deliberately initiated to provide such tissue;
				or</text>
						</paragraph><paragraph id="ID06183312b3374ce889ef2fef3c9013e8"><enum>(2)</enum><text>knowingly
				acquire, receive, or accept tissue or cells obtained from a human embryo or
				fetus that was gestated in the uterus of a nonhuman
				animal.</text>
						</paragraph></subsection><after-quoted-block>;</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="ID18a36bca8bf340a8ac8e019383a85a65"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)
			 of subsection (d), as so re-designated, by striking <quote>(a) or (b)</quote>
			 and inserting <quote>(a), (b), or (c)</quote>; and</text>
			</paragraph><paragraph id="IDefcbaddc7e50410d9fb1961f796bf3a7"><enum>(4)</enum><text>in paragraph (1)
			 of subsection (e), as so redesignated, by striking <quote>section
			 498A(f)</quote> and inserting <quote>section 498A(g)</quote>.</text>
