		<section id="IDFA6591A906C649119E2A415E0CC824DC" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the

			 <quote><short-title>Hawaii Water Resources Act of

			 2005</short-title></quote>.</text>

		</section><section id="ID7093B4020E0E40739E19AAC4BA37D468"><enum>2.</enum><header>Hawaii

			 reclamation projects</header>

			<subsection id="IDB4837BD12A4B4D13A3B1B1B8DAE9F507"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In

			 general</header><text>The Reclamation Wastewater and Groundwater Study and

			 Facilities Act (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/43/390h">43

			 U.S.C. 390h</external-xref> et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the

			 following:</text>

					<section id="IDFB71B23F955340458D3161A436DFD366"><enum>1637.</enum><header>Hawaii

				reclamation projects</header>

						<subsection id="IDAEF02FB7616742C985D27E56982D6FF9"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Authorization</header><text>The

				Secretary may—</text>

							<paragraph id="ID610E877A2E5D4884940F35C8E6D32BD6"><enum>(1)</enum><text>in cooperation

				with the Board of Water Supply, City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii,

				participate in the design, planning, and construction of a project in Kalaeloa,

				Hawaii, to desalinate and distribute seawater for direct potable use within the

				service area of the Board;</text>

							</paragraph><paragraph id="ID7784ED0654E74254918348F3E8B02807"><enum>(2)</enum><text>in cooperation

				with the County of Hawaii Department of Environmental Management, Hawaii,

				participate in the design, planning, and construction of facilities in

				Kealakehe, Hawaii, for the treatment and distribution of recycled water and for

				environmental purposes within the County; and</text>

							</paragraph><paragraph id="ID8907E6BD845D4B2F86DC1A2C8102B387"><enum>(3)</enum><text>in cooperation

				with the County of Maui Wastewater Reclamation Division, Hawaii, participate in

				the design, planning, and construction of, and acquire land for, facilities in

				Lahaina, Hawaii, for the distribution of recycled water from the Lahaina

				Wastewater Reclamation Facility for non-potable uses within the County.</text>

							</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="ID8FDD76AF761042849B8D03AC2ECD2ACD"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Cost

				share</header><text>The Federal share of the cost of a project described in

				subsection (a) shall not exceed 25 percent of the total cost of the

				project.</text>

						</subsection><subsection id="ID7B9276004C594F589E11279F8C624954"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Limitation</header><text>Funds

				provided by the Secretary shall not be used for the operation and maintenance

				of a project described in subsection (a).</text>

						</subsection><subsection id="ID51CE751E1359427786D784F079F80918"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Authorization

				of appropriations</header><text>There are authorized to be appropriated such

				sums as are necessary to carry out this section.</text>

						</subsection></section><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>

			</subsection><subsection id="IDF782104900B049AB88C7FAA31DA8A29A"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Conforming

			 amendment</header><text>The table of sections in

			 <external-xref legal-doc="act" parsable-cite="RPAAA92/2">section

			 2</external-xref> of the <act-name parsable-cite="RPAAA92">Reclamation Projects

			 Authorization and Adjustment Act of 1992</act-name> (43 U.S.C. prec. 371) is

			 amended by inserting after the item relating to section 1636 the

			 following:</text>
