			 seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following:</text>

					<header>Parental consent requirement for nonemergency intrusive

				physical examinations</header>

					<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID74B03EF595FA4BAFBB14FBE2AFFA4611">

						<enum>(a)</enum>

						<header>In general</header>

						<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">A Head Start agency shall

				obtain written parental consent before administration of any nonemergency

				intrusive physical examination of a child in connection with participation in a

				program under this subchapter.</text>

					</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID52A5864830324509B2F9EEBBC3CEFF45">

						<enum>(b)</enum>

						<header>Definition</header>

						<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The term <term>nonemergency

				intrusive physical examination</term> means, with respect to a child, a

				physical examination that—</text>

						<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDCEF1234B6ACE40ABA79DDB367891293E">

							<enum>(1)</enum>

							<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">is not immediately

				necessary to protect the health or safety of the child involved or the health

				or safety of another individual; and</text>

						</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID164D01C842EF4FD98D00B37D5CD26500">

							<enum>(2)</enum>

							<text display-inline="yes-display-inline">requires incision or is

				otherwise invasive, or involves exposure of private body parts.</text>
