		<official-title>To amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to accelerate the

		  availability of various income tax credits providing incentives for energy

		  incentive products and practices, and for other purposes. </official-title>

		<section id="S1" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short

			 title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as

			 the <quote><short-title>Rapid Efficiency Credit Act of

			 2005</short-title></quote>.</text>

		</section><section id="id76F283674C77426CA00AC404520F8505"><enum>2.</enum><header>Acceleration of

			 certain energy income tax credits</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Sections 1333(c), 1335(c), 1336(e), 1337(d),

			 1341(c), and 1342(c) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 are each amended by

			 striking <quote>December 31, 2005</quote> and inserting <quote>the date of the

			 enactment of the <short-title>Rapid Efficiency Credit Act

			 of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text>

		</section><section id="id54EAC68D7EA14337A7092F69CC0C9B1A"><enum>3.</enum><header>Credit for

			 Energy Star compliant compact fluorescent light bulbs</header>

			<subsection id="id43C30829364E4765B5345113B2ED9226"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Allowance of

			 credit</header><text>Subsection (a) of section 25D(a) of the Internal Revenue

			 Code of 1986 (relating to residential energy efficient property) is

			 amended—</text>

				<paragraph id="idB048303538E34B559078686ED9CDDB89"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking

			 <quote>and</quote> at the end of paragraph (2),</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="id67C3B4E1A8854E5583D9D3F098A3080C"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the

			 period at the end of paragraph (3) and inserting <quote>, and</quote>,

			 and</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="id59A3CD40EB264FCDB692AD9AE3385687"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the

			 end the following new paragraph:</text>

					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id0630750ECB3B455685F50A0B2A48678A" style="OLC">

						<paragraph id="id7CD4CC7959B34AD5A501EDCDA5F8431F"><enum>(4)</enum><text>30 percent of the

				qualified compact fluorescent light expenditures made by the taxpayer during

				such

				year.</text>

						</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id71944050292145BFB8DD6431F01B3F1E"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Maximum

			 credit</header><text>Subsection (b)(1) of section 25D of such Code is

			 amended—</text>

				<paragraph id="id9A74CB648B7441A8B672EB99520A3411"><enum>(1)</enum><text>by striking

			 <quote>and</quote> at the end of subparagraph (B),</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="idAC387E2013E64F0D9AA796E3727823EF"><enum>(2)</enum><text>by striking the

			 period at the end of subparagraph (C) and inserting <quote>, and</quote>,

			 and</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph id="id8E2AA6EA12E2469C85ED63B2066FD392"><enum>(3)</enum><text>by adding at the

			 end the following new subparagraph:</text>

					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idD2BD35CBB6C24C5E850156A202FDA281" style="OLC">

						<subparagraph id="id9068787003A64E5AA1DEC5E16B7EE3CF"><enum>(D)</enum><text>$50 with respect

				to any qualified compact fluorescent light

				expenditure.</text>

						</subparagraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>

				</paragraph></subsection><subsection id="id588F0C71DDB5443E83CE9D13D4306736"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Definition</header><text>Section

			 25D(d) of such Code is amended by adding at the end the following new

			 paragraph:</text>

				<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idE537505F27CE4D709315CE3740B35B50" style="OLC">

					<paragraph id="id9A0B9FC25DCA44AAB49F47BDE7215708"><enum>(4)</enum><header>Qualified

				compact fluorescent light expenditure</header><text>The term <term>qualified

				compact fluorescent light expenditure</term> means an expenditure for Energy

				Star compliant compact fluorescent light bulbs for use in a dwelling unit

				located in the United States and used as a residence by the

				taxpayer.</text>

					</paragraph><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block>

			</subsection><subsection id="idA5A8D29E9C6B4655AFBA42686B096FCE"><enum>(d)</enum><header>Labor costs not

			 included</header><text>Section 25D(e)(1) of such Code is amended by inserting

			 <quote>(other than paragraph (4) thereof)</quote> after <quote>subsection

			 (d)</quote>.</text>

			</subsection><subsection id="idBD33C8260D2F44CF83368C9D06172C20"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Effective

			 date</header><text>The amendments made by this section shall apply to property

			 placed in service after the date of the enactment of this Act, in taxable years

			 ending after such date.</text>
