		<official-title display="yes">To amend title XXI of the Social Security

		  Act to permit qualifying States to use a portion of their allotments under the

		  State children’s health insurance program for any fiscal year for certain

		  medicaid expenditures.</official-title>

			 <quote><short-title>Children’s Health Equity Technical

			 Amendment Act of 2005</short-title></quote>.</text>

			 qualifying States to use portion of schip allotment for any fiscal year for

			 certain medicaid expenditures</header>

			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="ID9D21D53167C840FB994D13334E2B1871"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In

			 general</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline"><external-xref legal-doc="act" parsable-cite="SSA/2105(g)(1)(A)">Section

			 2105(g)(1)(A)</external-xref> of the <act-name parsable-cite="SSA">Social

			 Security Act</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/42/1397ee(g)(1)(A)">42 U.S.C.

			 1397ee(g)(1)(A)</external-xref>) is amended by striking <quote>fiscal year

			 1998, 1999, 2000, or 2001</quote> and inserting <quote>a fiscal

			 year</quote>.</text>

			</subsection><subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="IDE4E2FC9C9DFE49B482EC7F64B97EECAC"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Effective

			 date</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendment made by

			 subsection (a) shall take effect as if enacted on October 1, 2004.</text>
