		  shortage areas made by the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999,

		<section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id4F07899D04074F97A4E26A3C04ED2983" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Extension for changes to

			 requirements for admission of nonimmigrant nurses in health professional

			 shortage areas</header>

			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idD582771D43674E32B4DC4BD0DD7CC574"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">Section 2 of the Nursing Relief for

			 Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999 (8 U.S.C. 1182 note) is amended—</text>

				<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id21BB139A6F1B4AAFB404B991C0159A2E"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">in the section heading, by striking

			 <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">4-year</header-in-text></quote> and inserting

			 <quote><header-in-text level="section" style="OLC">specified</header-in-text></quote>; and</text>

				</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7F7A0E86ACC440C3A2739B58E28C2743"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">by striking subsection (e) and inserting

			 the following:</text>

					<quoted-block display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id33F3335807554E2F9FCE02110A505BFA" style="OLC">

						<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idE7AC7135C8FD4A5CA8BCB11BD354607F"><enum>(e)</enum><header>Limiting

				Application of Nonimmigrant Changes to specified period</header><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The amendments made by this section shall

				apply to classification petitions filed for nonimmigrant status only during the

				period—</text>

							<paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id3241173A01884F32BF5632B3744949A2"><enum>(1)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">beginning on the date that interim or final

				regulations are first promulgated under subsection (d); and</text>

							</paragraph><paragraph commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="id7F8296A16B9B46A0986DC74CBC0EDB40"><enum>(2)</enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">ending on September 30,

				2008.</text>

				</paragraph></subsection></section><section commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idC5DD4F0329DA41DBA30A2E2F50E49E36" section-type="subsequent-section"><enum>2.</enum><header>Exemption from

			 administrative procedure act</header>

			<subsection commented="no" display-inline="no-display-inline" id="idDABC96752D7E441D96F96EE9FA2EFD22"><enum></enum><text display-inline="yes-display-inline">The requirements of chapter 5 of title 5,

			 United States Code (commonly known as the <quote>Administrative Procedure

			 Act</quote>) or any other law relating to rulemaking, information collection,

			 or publication in the Federal Register, shall not apply to any action to

			 implement the amendments made by section 1 to the extent that the Secretary of

			 Homeland Security, the Secretary of Labor, or the Secretary of Health and Human

			 Services determines that compliance with any such requirement would impede the

			 expeditious implementation of such amendments.</text>
