<whereas><text>Whereas the Framers intended that the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States would prohibit the establishment of religion, not prohibit any mention of religion or reference to God in civic dialog: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble>

<paragraph id="H442FBDF1B5944F2A8FD70FBF43C0021"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of Hanukkah, Ramadan, and Kwanzaa; </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H20DCBCD23B4941B3B51143F6A313BDCD"><enum>(2)</enum><text>strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to Hanukkah, Ramadan, and Kwanzaa; and </text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="HF99095234C8B4662967C99005574F7BD"><enum>(3)</enum><text>expresses support for the use of these symbols and traditions. </text></paragraph></section>
