<whereas><text>Whereas Christmas is a national holiday celebrated on December 25; and</text></whereas> 
<whereas><text>Whereas the Framers intended that the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States would prohibit the establishment of religion, not prohibit any mention of religion or reference to God in civic dialog: Now, therefore, be it</text></whereas></preamble>

<section display-inline="yes-display-inline" section-type="undesignated-section" id="HC7050025D5E648F0B660781E8D41D9BC"><text>That the House of Representatives—</text> 
<paragraph id="HCF91E0F96D0540888927D0B8129D4034"><enum>(1)</enum><text>recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of Christmas;</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H7937CEC1AA634BEFBF91922769F46D26"><enum>(2)</enum><text>strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to Christmas; and</text></paragraph> 
<paragraph id="H5F89CB3535E04ECE8759EB78C9A2B007"><enum>(3)</enum><text>expresses support for the use of these symbols and traditions.</text></paragraph></section>
