<section section-type="section-one" id="HD505BD2106E04F3E8BD153C4BF66328D" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Prohibition on imposing discriminatory commuter tax on nonresidents</header>
<subsection id="H19DE990C6D514504973EDFD891EC92D"><enum>(a)</enum><header>Prohibition</header><text>A State may not impose a tax on the income earned in the State by nonresidents unless the tax is of substantial equality of treatment for the citizens of the State and the nonresidents so commuting.</text></subsection>
<subsection id="H3F66F095286E413A9459E43946D6923F"><enum>(b)</enum><header>State</header><text>For purposes of subsection (a), the term <term>State</term> includes the District of Columbia and any political subdivision of a State.</text></subsection></section>
