<official-title>To amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971 to prohibit an authorized committee of a winning candidate for election for Federal office which received a personal loan from the candidate from making any repayment on the loan after the date on which the candidate begins serving in such office.</official-title>

<section section-type="section-one" id="HDB1FD796EE044A9598CA0021CD2FD3B" display-inline="no-display-inline"><enum>1.</enum><header>Short Title</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">This Act may be cited as the <quote><short-title>Personal Accountability in Campaign Committees Act</short-title></quote>. </text></section>
<section id="HB7FCC881FE5F43EEA0810097299FF772"><enum>2.</enum><header>Prohibiting repayment of candidate personal loans after date on which candidate begins serving in elected office</header><text display-inline="no-display-inline">Section 315 of the <act-name parsable-cite="FECA">Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971</act-name> (<external-xref legal-doc="usc" parsable-cite="usc/2/441a">2 U.S.C. 441a</external-xref>) is amended by adding at the end the following new subsection:</text>

<subsection id="H130BC4CF65E14C8BBF28A7FC4F28D69F"><enum>(k)</enum><header>Limitations on repayment of personal loans made by candidate to committee</header><text>An authorized committee of a winning candidate for an election for Federal office occurring after December 2005 which received a personal loan from the candidate may not make any repayment with respect to such loan on or after the date on which the candidate begins serving in the office.</text></subsection><after-quoted-block>.</after-quoted-block></quoted-block></section>
