<section id="HADB36F5EBCD64C41948897FDFDA426F" section-type="section-one"><enum>1.</enum><header>Grant program</header> 
<subsection id="H67F43DAFED01464C857050B46F705500"><enum>(a)</enum><header>In general</header><text>The Director of the Federal Emergency Managment Agency may make grants to State and local governments (including agencies of such governments) that distribute electricity for the purpose of upgrading their electrical distribution systems to provide protection against hurricanes.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H7B98A2BD74CE4464A741CC7CEDDC8E00"><enum>(b)</enum><header>Maximum Federal share</header><text>The maximum Federal share of a grant under this section shall be 75 percent of the cost of upgrading the electrical distribution system for which the grant is made.</text></subsection> 
<subsection id="H8A20DF17A6F64C6CAA90334C5365D8F8"><enum>(c)</enum><header>Authorization of appropriations</header><text>There is authorized to be appropriated $50,000,000 per fiscal year to carry out this section. Such sums shall remain available until expended.</text> </subsection></section>
